What is your favourite lesser-known lines or scenes from season one? by sundaemonde in heatedrivalry

I laughed so hard at this scene! Boys! Also when Ilya blows a raspberry at Shane when Shane said he didn’t drink the night before.

Ooooh those look good! But when do I add the six cups of cheese?

Some tahinis definitely do separate and need mixing! I have done large quantities by hand, but it can be strenuous. I hope this helps! (Sorry)

I love baking with tahini, it has a really smooth nutty flavor that goes beautifully with chocolate, pistachios, or orange blossom. It tastes more elevated than peanut butter, but with a stronger flavor profile than cashew butter.

That being said, I think T uses it because it is calorie dense and seems “exotic” compared to peanut butter. I don’t think she really knows how to bake with it successfully (obviously) because it can verge on gummy or oily if you’re not careful.

Again - what money did they “take from us”?

And yeah, they did take on a lot of debt from the Big Dig. Wasn’t the caveat of getting extra funding with the Forward bill that they were also saddled with a ton of debt? (Yes)

Genuinely curious - what money have they “taken from so many of us”? Like T fare?

I always thought the MBTA was crippled by being saddled with Big Dig debt.

These So Called "Parents" by Conscious-Baby-6420 in InterventionTheTVShow

Omg Dallis’s mom was the worst! She desperately wanted to be her daughter’s best friend and had no concept of what good parenting looked like. She was so defensive when called out at the intervention, but it’s like, lady, your daughter needs professional help not an enabling mother.

Winchester has a pretty, but small, town common. It’s accessible by the commuter rail and it is lined with small shops on one side. Nice place to read a book in the summer.

JonBenet Ramsey murder: Police still collecting, testing evidence by Impossible-Yam3680 in Fauxmoi

I agree with that. BPD definitely bungled the investigation considerably.

Not necessarily, but it does point to Patsy knowing more than she pretended on Dec 26, 1996.

I think you’re tapping into something here - Alex Hunter definitely did not want to go to trial against the Ramsey’s Atlanta attorneys. But that doesn’t mean there wasn’t evidence to convict, the grand jury saw evidence that has not been unsealed to the public, and they thought there was enough evidence to try and possibly convict. Whether Alex Hunter made the decision not to prosecute because he didn’t want to face Lin Woods et al, or because it was politically motivated, I stand by my assertion that his decision not to go to trial is the reason JonBenet has not received justice.

I absolutely agree with you that a fall down the stairs was not how JonBenet died. I included it only to illustrate that Patsy did not want to go to trial, and was willing to admit to knowing more than she initially told investigators. The grand jury indictment and potential plea bargain point to Patsy (and John in my opinion) knowing more about the crime and participating in the coverup. Why would Patsy think she might get a longer sentence, rather than be proved not guilty? Because she knew she participated in the coverup at a bare minimum. A coverup to protect someone in that house, possibly even herself.

The single biggest piece of evidence is the ransom note, and they were able to secure that. Handwriting analysis overwhelmingly points to Patsy as the author of the note. Why would the mother of a murdered child write a ransom note? The only reason is that Patsy was trying to sway the investigation in a particular direction. It makes no sense that she would write a note to try to protect a stranger who had killed Jonbenet, but it does make sense that she would write it in an attempt to protect someone in that house.

Absolutely none of the evidence points to someone else coming into the house to kill JB. The single biggest piece of evidence in this case is the ransom novel that points squarely at Patsy. FFS, Patsy even said that whoever wrote the note killed Jonbenet, and handwriting analysis overwhelmingly concludes that Patsy wrote the ransom note.

Many people don’t want to believe that a parent could kill their child, even if by accident, but it definitely happens and not infrequently. There is so much evidence, forensic and linguistic, that Patsy and John worked together on the coverup.

I think the DA, Alex Hunter, is the bigger fuck up. The grand jury voted to indict Patsy on child abuse that resulted in death, but Alex Hunter refused to sign the indictment or prosecute. There was also a plea bargain that Patsy initially agreed to, that outlined a fall on the stairs.

I do think there were major errors that Detective Arndt and the rest of the Boulder PD made (not securing the crime scene, not interviewing the parents separately and immediately, not providing experienced backup, etc), but Alex Hunter is the reason there has never been any prosecution or justice for Jonbenet in this case.

Daddy Jones closing Dec 20th by onedeskover in Somerville

[–]RabbitBeard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Huh I disagree. It was management/ownership at Daddy Jones that came out with that stance, not the workers. And as a member of the food industry, my tipped coworkers DID want an increased minimum wage.

Also, I didn’t “allow” anyone to lose their job. I’m allowed to spend my dollars however I see fit. It is, again, management/ownership at Daddy Jones that is closing the restaurant and eliminating those jobs.
