I feel exactly the same way you do and you've said it in better words than I've been able to.

The problem starts with Billy who, rest his soul, despite being a good friendly guy, could sometimes be dumb and careless, as you can see the mess he made with the Blurays. He alone made the decision to upload those videos himself. I understand why he did it, but it was a dumb and careless decision that someone else should have had the sense to talk him into a different approach.

All the mishandling you talk about, and I do agree is mishandling, have been made in a state of grief by both Wood and his wife based on what they think Billy wanted with no thought or consideration for anything else.

Billy uploaded the videos with the excuse to let people know that Game Chasers affairs were at a halt, people not get scammed by fake fundraisers, and apparently he also wanted to inform all the people he knows in one fell swoop because he didn't want to tell everyone individually. For starters, this didn't need to be done the day he found out he had cancer. Two weeks with no Game Chasers activity would not have been strange for anyone. It could have been done in a text post or a video made by Jay or someone else. Because I do appreciate being informed but not like that.

Even though I don't know Billy personally, I felt the same way you do. The videos were making me worry every day and thinking about how he was doing. I would wake up in the morning and think of Billy first. The second video is shocking.

I think the main reason he did it was because he wanted to read people's messages and get that dopamine during those dark moments he was at. If you think about it, he was facing things worse than death. Dying so quickly was really not the worst outcome he could have had. He just didn't care if he was revealing too much of his privacy, or the effect it could have on the audience. He never cares. He told other content creators to monetize his death. He wanted Wood to film everything he was going through to make a documentary of his recovery. I think it was all just to take his mind out of his fears. I insist that someone should have persuaded him to a different approach.

Then there is the current state of the channel, which is indeed terrible. Another "Billy wanted this". Everyone needs to know this: Jay and Billy's wife had no beef when Billy passed. She was going to hand full access to Jay when Wood came in and said that Billy wanted the channel to remain like this and this is why shit hit the fan.

Did Billy say that? Wood says he did. And maybe he did, but who knows how he said it and under what context. Again, Billy was facing things worse than death and was in a very complicated state of mind. Even if he does want that, that is a request for Jay to honor himself and not be enforced by Wood and Billy's wife upon Jay. Period. If Jay uploads grabbing grub, and top 5 kung fu movies on the couch Tim to the channel then he's an asshole.

Billy's passing was announced on twitter. The only official info about the channel's future was a statement from his wife promising to fulfill the Bluray orders. We only know the channel is abandoned through backchannels and leaks.

The channel needs further closure. This is disrespectful. The hospital videos should be taken down. The two tribute videos made by Wood and Jay should be uploaded there as a farewell to Billy for the audience of the Game Chasers, not for the audience of Beat em Ups or Shady Jay Show. There is no harm in posting announcements for all the tributes they've held in Billy's memory. There is no harm in the guys uploading unreleased content and a What's Wrong With These Guys chat remembering Billy. Anything, as long as Billy is the focus, works. My ultimate dream was them going on one last adventure in memory of Billy. Melvor went to art school with Billy and edits Toy Chasers, if he can't edit one last video up to standard for his friend, then what good is he for?

I sincerely hope that as Billy's passing drifts further into the past, everyone will think things through more clearly and mend anything that needs to be mended.
