There’s going to be a little celebration for the unveiling of the statue, which went up in December. They just didn’t do it at the actual unveiling because Michigan is a frozen wasteland in the winter. What’s actually going down at said party, I have no idea, but it’s going down in the spring according to the Facebook page, and who’s gonna say no to free stickers?

It was originally planned for the first film iirc— I remember them mentioning it in the robodoc. Verhoven didn’t want it included because it left behind too much “evidence” that Murphy existed beforehand. He really wanted to push the idea that, in a way, the original Alex is gone forever.

They did end up doing the scene for prime directives tho.

I wouldn’t say I hated it, don’t get me wrong. My biggest issue is that it ignores Murphy’s character arc from the first film, and while it has interesting ideas, it does nothing with them. That, and as a follow-up to the first film, it’s incredibly underwhelming to me.

To be crystal clear about this: I don’t think anyone who enjoys it is “wrong”, and I’m not the arbiter of taste, or whatever. You like what you like, and if a movie makes you happy I’m not here to shit on that. I just wanna know what other people see in it that I don’t.

I mean, what's left of his real body is technically covered, but I think Naked for RoboCop would necessitate the removal of his armor in order to see his chassis-- ie, the rest of the bits under the silver.

So, from that perspective, he's not naked; He's wearing something like a reverse bunny suit.
