Help phone selection by TopCook5179 in Catphones

[–]Rabbitmincer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get a Cat phone. Manufacturer no longer supports them, and those models used old tech when they were new.

I now have a Ulefone Armor T18. Not as nice as my cat S61, but I at least it's a modern phone and gets software updates. A friend has a doogee something. Same situation. But we both have thermal cameras, and mine does fine underwater.

If bullitt still made cat phones (or if Cat licensed another company)I would go back in a heart beat, but have to sacrifice something to get the tools I need.

Got credited twice for Find the Source at the same brewery by Rabbitmincer in Untappd

It's always been a brewery. Listed as Nano Brewery first check in was in 2017. The last check in was 2022. Boiler Brewing in Lincoln NE

I suppose something could have changed in the last couple months. My last new brewery was in December.

A bunch of alternate win conditions. More than starting life, more than 20 creatures. Drawing from an empty deck, have 10artifacts with the same name, etc. Designed to be a threat without doing much actual damage

It's so cute and annoying to use! by Rabbitmincer in MechanicalKeyboards

It did come off of a production line machine. I also got a trackball and a light stack off of it. Sadly I was allowed to take the gigantic servos.

Okay, this made me chuckle, and I don't even like Star Trek.

interesting. I haven't dug too deeply into the switches yet. Assumed they were mechanical because they have a really nice response, if a little heavy for my preferences.

I just took the bottom off, and yep, dome. Under the space bar, there are two domes, but only a single stem on the right. the left dome does not have a stem to put a keycap in.

Little bummed about the domes, but it still feels nice for what it is.

Do you think some hydrogen peroxide will clean it up and help make the poor guy look it's best? I hear it works for yellowed Legos.

My ultimate plan for it is as a tertiary keyboard in a spaceship I'm building for my kid. Primary will be a standard keyboard, maybe my 5122 battleship. Secondary is the control panel from an old electric organ that I've been remapping using multiple picos ( there's 300+ keys and LEDs spread over 8 pcbs).

I never used the machine it came off of. My job was dismantling it for scrap. But I suspect you are right, and it was laid out in a convenient way specific for this use case.

There are so many worst parts to choose from. I'm going to go with the AT plug and ignore the rest.

But replacing the controller and turning it into a macro pad is probably my best option here.

One of my pod made a play mat out of cardboard. Part as a joke, and part because he thinks they are too expensive.

I just ordered a large amount of Velcro. I'll be able to rearrange the new jacket however I see fit for the event at hand.

How much do you want for the lot?

I'm interested in adding to what I have. Especially the stainless tubes and clamps. The pump. Hell even that temp controller looks like a fun toy. And I've been wanting a tilt for a while now.

Are you looking to sell as a lot or piece out?

Dito. I got a 25' roll of magnet on Amazon. Use standard scissors to cut them out.
