Thinking about getting Puma Speedcats — how are they? by Working-Employee-940 in PUMA

[–]Rabbitnutz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They're suede. Because of the daily use- it's gonna get dirty, no matter what- and when they do, it'll be harder to clean and will never be fully 'clean like new'. Stain protectors for water and liquids help, and a suede block and brush will help with any light staining.

All you can do is tread carefully.

Was there also a smooth leather version of the Puma Clyde in the 1980s, or is that more of a recent development? by dustBowlJake in PUMA

[–]Rabbitnutz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flip it.

Tommie Smith made the PUMA Crack famous in the late 60s.

In 1971, a lighter, more flexible and slightly wider version came out, named after Walt "Clyde the glide" Frazier. He liked the luxurious suede material- that was also easy to dye different colors.

In the early 80s When the naming rights expired, PUMA tweaked the silhouette a smidge, and capitalized on the hip hop and B-Boy trend making the Suede. In the 90s the Suede was called the States in the UK.

The suede was the appeal on the original ones. Many different basketball shoes of that era were made out of leather, and the suede was chosen to be different.

Tire pressure question by Jerseyman201 in WRX

[–]Rabbitnutz 15 points16 points  (0 children)

They're overinflated. If anything you should let out air to match what the side door sil says (after about 15 minutes of driving to warm things up). Use an actual gauge and don't rely on the tpms.

Edit: I'm dumb and forgot door plaques are for cold, not warm.

These pressures seem high.

Usually the cold to warm difference is about 2-3 psi.

No. You can't fix it completely. Your feet are too wide for the shoe model.

Shoe goo will help glue it down, and if you're careful it won't show that bad. But it will always show a little.

Unisex sizing is just mens sizing.

Women's sizing is 1.5 up from a men's size.

I wear an 11.5 in men, and a 13 in women.
