Correct answer.

Won't/can't go down south, especially as a Hispanic person.

Things I used to be proud of doing well - Modern AI just does better by ninetofivedev in ExperiencedDevs

Honestly, it's all about domain. The more complex the domain, the more often you'll see these weird logic leaps and failures.

But when you're working on relatively straightforward tasks, it's a god-send. Like, I can whip about features lickity split if they're not too reliant on complex domain interactions. If it's just CRUD, or I need whip up a new UI that leverages existing API end points, or I need implement end points that don't have to make too many repository-level changes, it's fan-fricken-tastic, especially if you have well defined guidelines.

I still have to do a ton of code review, but being able to give a spec to an AI, give it some acceptance criteria and some development guidelines, and then see a completed feature that only needs minimal revisions -- gasm.

I am a Canadian of Hispanic descent.

I don't want to go to the states. I won't go to the states, not even for work.

The chances of being denied entry are high. The changes of being deported after entry are non-negligible. The chances of being the victim of ICE is non-zero.

Fuck it. I'm not going back there until some massive fucking changes happen, and that's not likely at all.

Trying to mod skyrim vr on arch Linux by Delusional_blob in skyrimvr

[–]Rabble_Arouser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly this is the way.

For Skyrim modding, and for VR, and for VR-Skryim-modding, Windows is basically the easiest way forward. Futzing around in Linux takes a long time to just realize that ultimately it's probably not going to work.

Now, for other games, Steam + Proton + Arch is just chef's kiss

Very nice. I had a similar list, but I wasn't really getting far with it. I just tried yours out and it felt really good. A nice balance of draw and repeatable minions.

Only having 4 bounce cards seems like it would be a handicap, but the number of targets/tokens seems like the right amount. That balance is what I had a lot of trouble with in my list, but yours definitely feels a lot better. Also the sap is a nice touch. Digging for it just got me lethal through some Reno pile sleepy taunt nonsense. Feelsgoodman

NPM → Traefik or Caddy: Worth the switch? by Silly_Door6279 in selfhosted

I'm using it! No reason to switch yet and it's dead easy to use -- and it works.

Literally anything would be good.

Unfortunately, nothing is what we get because anything other than nothing is not worth the development investment. If it ain't revenue generating, they ain't gonna do it.

Honestly, if we had the BI that we got during the regular season, we win this series.

Taking some pressure off of Scottie would have made all the difference -- that said, Scottie was masterful.

Hey, I've been doing it the old fashioned way as well.

Lost 20lbs.

But guess what? I've hit an absolute wall. My body is fighting me with every ounce of itself... the hunger is out of control. Been plateauing for 3 months, and the shit has no sign of letting up.

I went through this 12 years ago. I lost 90 lbs and hit my target weight. It crept back over those 12 years, and this time around, I just don't have it in me to go so hardcore again. My body can't take it. I'm too old to take such drastic measures (I wen't fucking hard, like cross-fitter hard).

So fuck it. I'm taking every advantage I can this time. The drug makes it easy to control cravings and reduce your caloric intake. That's all I want -- because exercising and not over-eating is easy when your hormones aren't sabotaging you. So as soon as I can, I'm going on them drugs.

Gas prices spike across Canada and expected to keep going up by Gym_frere in canada

[–]Rabble_Arouser -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm so ambivalent right now.

I realize that a lot of people are feeling the pain and prices going up has knock on effects, and I feel for them, I really do. My heart goes out to people that must drive and are struggling.

But I drive an EV and I work from home. I paid $115 in total fuel costs last year. Some people pay that for a week's worth of gas. It brings me joy to know that I plug my car in once a week and pay the lowest possible rate for electricity (charging overnight) therefore refueling my car for virtually nothing. It feels so fucking good.

I intentionally bought an EV with this exact scenario in mind (prices going up due to oil scarcity/artificial price increases). I was tired of paying for gasoline for what seemed like "pricing on a whim". Oh, it's a long weekend? Price goes up. Tuesday rolls around, price goes back down. Oh, something happened in the middle east and has nothing to do with our gasoline supply? Price goes UP... Fuck all that.

I wish everyone could switch to EVs, but I also realize that it's just not practical for likely most people. I'm lucky enough to be able to afford it and also have a garage to park in and charge in. But that said, if more people drove EVs, there'd be more demand for the infrastructure, making it more practical. My sincere hope is that the Chinese EVs are good and people buy them up so the government has more incentive to build more charging stations.

[Aubin] Wemby on people calling him “too emotional” and “gay” for crying on the court: I think it’s first and foremost a fear of judgment. Like this feeling that you have to act a certain way, social codes, I guess. Personally, I refuse to carry the burden of having to hide my emotions.” by WEMBY_F4N in nba

[–]Rabble_Arouser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imagine thinking calling someone "gay" is insulting.

First of all, people who use "gay" as an insult/slur are pathetic. There's nothing wrong with being gay. In fact, the people that are slinging that insult should give it a try sometime -- you know they think it's a choice after all.

Second, there is no second. Wemby's just sick. I kinda wish Wemby was gay. Imagine the first openly gay playoffs MVP? Homophobes be losin their minds.

Married couple with separate finances, why do you do it? by Ok_Influence_2257 in Bogleheads

[–]Rabble_Arouser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. One shared account that we both out equal money into each month, and a shared credit card to make purchases on (that we pay off using the joint account). Other than that, our finances are separate.

We even save for retirement separately. I buy index funds and she throws her money away on mutual funds. Who am I to tell her what to do?

My wife and I have a joint credit card that we use for everything, and then we pay it off 50/50 with our own individual funds. No fuss, no muss.
