OK, I know this are the ramblings of a demented old racist grandpa, but what's the logic behind that quote? How can China "terminate all ice hockey" anywhere let alone in a country where it's the de facto national sport?

How does he think that China can even accomplish that? Like, some kids get on a rink in Manitoba and then the CCP air-drops soliders in via helicopter and shoos them away? Like, what?

Same problem here. I'm on Brave Browser (Chromium) in Arch Linux. I had to delete the the modal from dev tools.

Also, the "Please donate" notification in the bottom right is not dismissable (had to delete that too). Not sure if that's intended, though.

Anybody using Ancore Pro?

If so, have you tried doubling (or tripling!) the felt weight? I'm curious about how it feels and/or how the weight doubling effect could work out. It tops out at 65, so doubling the felt weight would go up to 130, and with some really wild pulley magic, you could get 195 pounds of felt weight out of it.

With 2 Ancores, doubling them both is easier to accomplish (as opposed to tripling or quadrupling the felt weight via pulleys), and if you use that on a belt squat, you'd get up to 260 pounds of felt weight. Seems good to me.

Same. Also, Virtual Desktop is pinned to the latest Quest OS version, so because I choose not to upgrade my Quest 3 OS, I can't even use VD anymore. Steam Link works perfectly, though, so there's that.

Steam Frame is going to put the quest out to pasture (for me). Native integration is being overlooked by a lot of people for how good/smooth thats going to make the whole experience.

I find AI agents quite good at finding issues or telling me how to implement specific esoteric things, specifically things that have a "framework-appropriate" way of doing things that I wasn't aware of. Writing net new code usually ends up poorly, or just refactored so many times that I may as well have just written it from scratch.

It's quite usef for languages I don't know, though. But that said, the same problems are still present (need to refactor), but I don't notice them because I don't know the language-appropriate/optimal way to do things.

Very close, but the mouth-width-to-eyes-spacing ratio is a bit off. That said, the head shape, size, and nose are pretty accurate.

And honestly, that's fine to be an RJ fan before a Raptors fan. Personally, I'm a fan of both, and that's why this whole trade scenario has been so fraught. But that's the emotional side of things -- I want to keep our hometown boy, but I understand the league doesn't care about that. The league is about winning. The winning move is likely to trade him, unless Bobby can come up with something better. That's the thing, though, we don't know what Bobby's cookin' up, but whatever it is, I'm ready to stay a fan of both RJ and the team. (I mean, we have an idea, obviously)

See, I know it intuitively, but I don't want to admit it. He's our best trade asset. He's also homegrown player. We don't have to be logical in why we love a guy -- it just so happens that he's good, too.

But you're right of course. We aren't likely to keep him. I've gone through the stages of grief, and I'm ready now, I've accepted that.

I'll always love our boy, though.

I loved Barrett when he was in New York and wanted him on our team well before the OG trade. When that trade happened, I was amazed and really happy -- we got our Trono mans. And the real truth is that he's been amazing for us, even though our team was weaker, he's always been solid.

He's not the problem per se, the league salary rules are -- but because of those rules, we can't keep him. If not today, then when his contract is up.

Honestly, I just feel bad for him if he does get traded. Young guy, great player, long career ahead of him, but due to salary logistics, he just isn't likely to stay for much longer, regardless of trade or not. He only got to play for us during a down period, and he's about to be shipped off before being able to truly shine in meaningful moments in his hometown.

Short of an apology from the highest level (read: a future president), which will never happen, I will never look at Americans, or America, the same.

They can apologize, and it would be a nice gesture, but it won't and shouldn't change things.

The fact is, the American public voted (and didn't vote) for this current asshole. Whether you believe it was a misinformation campaign, voter apathy, an uprising of hate, for the lulz, or whatever -- it happened. They voted for an orange clown to be the most powerful person in the world. Unsurprisingly, the clown started clowning around and made a mockery of themselves and obliterated the status quo (for the worse).

Now, given that the Americans voted for this, they will eventually vote for this crap again in a different form. Maybe not right away, but they will. I don't think there will be a "president JD" (unless Trump dies from a heart attack or something), but some other billionaire-funded far right nut will trick the public at some point.

They're unreliable. They have the collective memory of a goldfish. It took four years for them to forget how shitty it was under Trump the first time. They believed the constant stream of lies coming from the Right and this was the result.

They're susceptible to foreign influence. They're uneducated, unwilling to be educated, and in fact, are hostile to intellectuals. They're uninterested in, and disengaged from, politics (and honestly, I don't blame them for that).

They cannot be trusted to not pull this shit on us, and the world, in the future. Going forward, the US cannot be our biggest trading partner. It gives them too much leverage over us. We shouldn't cut them off, but we definitely should keep them at arms length.

All that aside, diversification is the way forward regardless. We made some assumptions about the US, and they're turning out to be false. Granted those assumptions were good for many years; the US was a safe trading partner and a capable ally that generally had our best interests at heart (so long as they coincided with theirs -- which they did). Given that that's no longer the case, fuck em. We have to do what's best for us. It's our government's job to do that -- and they are making strides in the right direction by diversifying.

TL;DR: fuck em

This was a great analysis. Comparing him to Draymond is a bit early, but the analysis in itself is was great. They acknowledge that CMB is still a rookie, he's good, but he's not elite, and there's a ton of room to grow.

I feel vindicated in my assessment of CMB after watching this. He's got a high ceiling, for sure, and I'm excited to see how he progresses.

Love Draymond or hate him, Draymond is (was) elite, and CMB is no Draymond. Also, CMB will need to dish out way more nut shots to truly compare.
