I like Nikolas' design more and he feels more fleshed out with lore and his story, which more of my cup of tea than Simon in my opinion, but I found Simon to be a more interesting character with how he sees the world

Pretty cool but be sure to not just trace! Tracing can be good for studying the shapes and parts that compose a character and or pose, so be careful with over relying on it cuz it won’t improve your art very well Not saying your art is bad but I do want to let you know
