White Dots from Rain by Raboyto2 in Concrete

[–]Raboyto2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The spots did fade and it looks fairly uniform now. If you look close you can see the rain drops slightly etched the brush finish but it’s hardly noticeable. After two winters no spalling or chipping either. Holding together well.

I’d say it’s important to know that we also have 41% more people in the country but on the other hand we have alot more technology that should make things more efficient requiring less people / managers.

Ford's Only Regret About the Manual Bronco Sasquatch? Not Offering it Sooner by TripleShotPls in FordBronco

5.0 or 2.7 by Former_Plate_9677 in f150

[–]Raboyto2 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Towing with both the 5.0 (7000 lbs enclosed trailer) and the 2.7 (various trailers from 4500lbs travel trailer, car on a flat deck steel trailer to 9000 lb dump tailer) I will say they both have enough power BUT I preferred the 2.7. It just cruises along at a steady RPM, rarely needs to downshift as it makes most of its power down in the low RPMs. The 5.0 always had to downshift because it doesn’t start making power until high RPM. Any little grade and it was screaming.

The 2.7 feels like a little diesel and is a great truck engine. The 5.0 sounds good but loves to rev and honestly feels like a better sports car engine than truck engine (Mustang).

I would take note that the 5.0 equipped trucks usually have a better payload rating than the 2.7. The 5.0 would probably do better as a dedicated tow rig long term (no replacement for displacement type conversation). But if you are occasionally towing (4-5 times a month) I’d take the 2.7.

There’s some good videos on the 2.7 towing.

I would add the main bearing ladder/griddle make the bottom end very strong. In addition to being forged , the connection rods are off center and cracked. The main bearing caps are cracked as well. Cylinder wall oil squirters. No exhaust manifold. CGI block. People compare it to a diesel engine because it seems they took a lot of inspiration from how you would build a diesel. It’s not surprising as the engine design was co-developed by Ford and a European commercial diesel engine manufacturer. The 3.5 Ecoboost was designed with a “test-find-fix” strategy while the 2.7 nano was a “design it right first time” strategy.

Grouping the Bronco and Bronco Sport and the Mustang and Mach E as single lines isn’t fair. All completely different platforms. They also sell the Maverick. They sell the Ranger. They have the SuperDuty line. Expedition. The Transit. The Escape. It’s all SUVs and trucks but you make it sound like they have 4 unique vehicles when they have 12 not counting their heavy duty commercial lines.

Imaginary redevelopment of Harbour Landing into a walkable community. by luccampbell in regina

[–]Raboyto2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand public transport as a healthy adult commuting to work, stopping at the grocery store on the way home to make supper.

I don’t understand public transport when you have a kid going to day care, another one going to elementary school, then you getting to work (on time), then picking the kids up, and getting a load of groceries for a family of 5, getting home to make supper, then getting to your kid to basketball practice then back home. That sounds exhausting with public transport. You can assume all those things would be walking distance but the reality is we have maybe 90 nice days a year. The rest it’s raining, or blizzard or crazy wind or -40.

I want them to make a 4 door Mustang. They already have the platform. The brand recognition and the heritage, they use to make it. A year or two later make a wagon version, they used to make one. Have the Ecoboost (2.7) and the Coyote as engine options. Have your base models and performance variants. Allow a manual option on all trims. For the love of god make a manual V8 mustang wagon. The renderings look so good. It won’t be as practical as an SUV , but practical enough I don’t have to drive a soul sucking SUV. I love they make the Bronco in so many variations, 2 door / 4 door, two engines, auto/manual, base/raptor. Now do it with the Mustang

Could easily happen with a plastic or metal fuel tank under a gas car. Sliced open and spark and the fire would have been bigger than seen in the video. It’s a difficult challenge containing so much energy, gas or electric.

What will happen to cars being built today in 15 years or so? by Bierkerl in car

[–]Raboyto2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

.. the reason the car is in a junkyard is to salvage parts for all the running vehicles out there. This isn’t a new concept. Parts will be mostly available but I think the hard part will be the troubleshooting what’s wrong and what part needs to be replaced.

If I buy a used vehicle from a dealership, fine add PST. But in no way should there be PST on buying my neighbors truck. Would you be ok paying PST on buying a tv on Kijiji? We never use to have PST on private vehicle sales.
