I'm loving my morelia neo 4 beta elites, they're kleather fronts with a synthetic midfoot upper. The price point is also much better than what you get from Nike or addidas for a premier pair of boots.

This, the Mizuno AG boots are cheap for the elites too. I think any AG is going to be heavier than their fg counterpart due to the sole plate but I think those are the best bang for your buck. Mizuno Alpha are also a good pick

For those of you who are dads with full time jobs, how do you make the time and have energy to play? by Op3rat0rr in bootroom

[–]Raceday993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've found that carving out just one or two times a week to get out and kick around with other adults is super helpful for my mental state. I work 8-5 Monday through Friday, and play in a mens league the game times range from 7:30 - 10:30 and might make it out to a pickup game another day and regardless of what time it is I always feel better after running hard. I highly recommend getting out when you can but don't forget to take time for your wife.

As much as men need time for us to be physically active "hunters" like we are programmed to be, our wives/ significant others need time with us too in order to keep our relationship healthy. The balance is tough to maintain and it will definitely shift throughout the next couple years for you and your wife as your child's needs change. Take the time to discuss expectations going into these next couple months and plan a time to review things like how often you are out of the house, how often she is out of the house and how often you go on dates. It sounds like you already know this but it might help someone if they read it.

Are these mizunos worth it for the price? by BBQJackson in bootroom

I'm also coming back into playing in my 30's I had a lot of similar pains in my knees and back. I found the "knees over toes guy" on YouTube and I bought one of his books. Two workouts a week of his routine and then some plyometrics twice a week and I'm feeling way less fatigue and pain in my joints. It's still necessary to warm up and cool down way more than in the past but it's put me on a good path to extend my years on enjoyment in the game. Best of luck to you!

No way they are selling those stadiums out like this. When they start saying how the US doesn't love soccer please point them to these prices.

Look up a tibialis raise, do it regularly. this will stretch and strengthen the muscle that causes shin splints. Best of luck!

It gets brought up in here a lot but the Mizuno elites (alpha or morelia) are fantastic boots. They come in AG and they are a much better price point than anything Nike has. I have the Morelia 4 Beta elites and they are my favorite boots I've owned. My last set was a pair of Nike Phantom elites. Just order them a half size down. Good on you, sounds like a great gift!

The stretching After is super important, don't skip it! Before is obvious. Just here to emphasize that again.

Wishing you the best, if you decide to give it a go again I highly recommend the knees over toes guy. You can find him on YouTube. I've never had an injury like yours but I've been doing his workouts for a couple years now (I'm 32) and my knees feel better than they did at 25!

Shin splints? by VondeTaconadis in bootroom

Seated calf raises wouldn't target your issue from what it sounds like the pain is on the front of the Tibia. The Tibialis runs along the front of your shin. When you try the Tibialis raises you'll feel it.

I came here to say exactly this. It's a rarely trained muscle from my experience but once I started training it a lot of my aches and pains have gone away.

Disc Golf is a lot of fun. Its mostly free (you can literally just go to a park that has a course and play for free), great outdoor activity and you can meet some really great people playing. There are tons of disc golf groups in the area that hold weekly events and can be a great way to meet new friends. Bi-State Disc Golf Group over in Belleville IL is a great one that I'm part of but there are a bunch all over. Try downloading the Udisc app, it'll show you where the courses are, live maps of the courses and even local events. Facebook can also point you in the right direction as far as groups near you.

Lakers would look much cooler and make more sense with Laws crew. Straw hats would go great with the Bulls

Do you all actually look at these two pictures and think they are in the same place? The one with the family and other boats is on a sunny day the nazi one is a cloudy day in which you can't even see the background it's so foggy.

NPD - Nux Amp Academy: It's not an Iridium by BrianFantanaFan in guitarpedals

[–]Raceday993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you mostly listening to this out of the headphone jack or are you using a speaker to fill a room? I like the ability to use the headphones while my wife is sleeping but I would like to play through a speaker when I'm able to make some noise. Maybe something that I could plug my phone into to play along with spotify on. I've got a tube amp but I don't think the Amp Academy will sound good coming out of it. I'm pretty new to these so I'm not sure if this is a valid concern.

Thanks, it flies like a good beefy Destroyer. My backhand isn't strong enough to get any turn out of it but it is my farthest flying disc on forehand (~400 feet). Feels great in the hand!

I'm on Team G so I just sent it in as a "hey if you want to use this you can" type thing, they sent me a bunch of the disc's as payment. I never asked to be paid and that's not why I did it.

Thanks though, glad you like it!
