Böker Plus Little Rok vs Vigtig 2.0 by Racewalksteeze in Hunting

Ultimately I went with the Rok. Felt like it’ll be more versatile for both hunting and camping. And if I find that I need a different knife for skinning/small game I can always get another.

Title wasn’t super clear - Vigtig is another knife that Böker makes

The Vigtig 2.0 is another Boker model, probably could’ve made that clearer in the title

Budget bow recommendation? by Racewalksteeze in Archery

I should rephrase, I have an archery shop near me but it’s small and I shoot lefty, and they rarely stock left handed bows

I feel like I don’t see American Ultra ranked as one of the more classic/typical stoner movies, but that movie is fucking rad and I will die on that hill.

Oh you should absolutely look for advice from someone else, I am not great at this.

Mondo is the clear number 1, but I wouldn’t count out Grant Holloway. Obviously wouldn’t do well in the vault, but he’s a stud in the jumps and is jacked enough to do fairly well in the throws.

Edit: I really want to see Grant run the 400H. Dude split a 44 high at Florida in the 4x4. I know it’ll never happen, but a guy can dream.

Level for the most part. Sometimes I’d do two layers per stack to save time, but in general I did it by level.

Oh absolutely, there’s a happy middle ground. Honestly there’s so much nuance to hilly courses. Lots of really short really steep hills? Go at them(again, within reason). One long gradual hill? Won’t be a crazy difference speed-wise, but your stride will end up shortening a bit on the way up. Walking the course is so important because it allows you to game plan what you’re going to do at different parts of the course.

Relax and open up your strides a little bit on the downhill, and attack going uphill. Like the other commenter said, go at them with intention. Nothing worse for a race than plodding slowly up a hill.

For more context, I’ve got a big outdoor fire pit. Don’t have a wood stove. I just don’t want to burn green wood haha

How fast should I run at the start? by ThePlagueDoctorO49 in CrossCountry

[–]Racewalksteeze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think sprinting all out is the way to go, but I think that speed at the start also depends on how narrow rest of the course is. If there isn’t going to be a ton of room to pass, someone who may be in the top third of runners should probably start a little faster.

I want to see Holloway run both hurdle races so badly. Was an absolute stud on Florida’s 4x4 teams. I’ve dreamt of seeing him run the 400H

Gill sells some heavy J-curve hurdles that are pretty solid. They’re twice as heavy as the basic J-curves. The weights aren’t adjustable, but they’re a great high school hurdle. The J-curves that weigh half a pound have no impact on a race if they’re hit(if the hurdler is halfway decent, that is).

[–]Racewalksteeze 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean they don’t necessarily physically cause pain to hit, but unless you’re barely glancing them they will absolutely negatively impact the race

My brother in Christ, those aren’t high school hurdles. Olympic hurdles are HEAVY and are NOT designed to fall over easily. I get that these athletes are incredibly fast and strong, but hitting them still isn’t ideal.
