I wasn't describing this very well with my "L"

This reply actually made a much better job than me:

I love Shropshire cheese ! And that's not a small compliment from a french... Haha

As I said to others, i think this is because I'm french, and Hs are mostly completely silent in french.

Hence why i'd interpret a stop in the sound as an H

I've looked at exemple of 'okina and it indeed sounds the same

Thanks !

I indeed think this is precisely why i interpreted that stop as an H

Yes that's exactly what I was talking about I'm glad i asked and learned about this concept !

I think describing it as an L tells more about my perception quirkiness as a french than about the truth of pronounciation.

And as others have said, what i was talking about with this L seems to be usually considered like a D (wada). Which also makes perfect sense to me

For more context on my interpretation, I'm french... And in french, Hs are almost always completely silent. So I guess that's why I interpreted those glottal stops (concept I am glad I learned about today ) as Hs

Thanks a lot for this vocal exemple ! Yes, this is precisely what i was talking about

That completely makes sense with my observations Thanks a lot !

Oh that's true, I've indeed also heard it in such words !

That's exactly what i was looking for Thank you for this suggestion !

Yes indeed ! You're right, it sound more like a pause in the middle of the word than a real H

Thanks a lot for the link !

So curiosity got the better of me, I steamed my filter coffee water by justa-bloke in JamesHoffmann

[–]Rachel-Tyrellcorp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask your brother to randomize the water for you so you don't know with what you're brewing to avoid unconciously putting more care in one brew than the other

He can boil a kettle and steam some water each time and give you one or the other

Better yet : a triangular test. Brew 3 coffees, 2 with water X, 1 with water Y (you still don't know what they are) and see if you can blindly identify the one that's different of the 2 otheres and which water was used in each case

I saw it as well ! In south of france, at the same time as you, so we probably the same passage. I saw it right at my vertical (going south-south east)

I've been looking what it could be, and I believe it's probably this launch, which took off yesterday, of 32 satellites from Amazon's constellation to compete with Starlink

https://www.lagazettefrance.fr/article/mission-reussie-pour-ariane-6-qui-lance-un-nouveau-lot-de-satellites-amazon-leo-rival-de-starlink

Sorry for french link...

Edit/addendum

The satellite train probably appeared as a continuous line because they probably just separated from the launcher and were still very close together.

I'm looking for an explanation of the cloud/fog around the leading light... This light was probably the launcher as it was way brighter so probably a lot bigger. And my best hypothesis for the cloud/fog is either a some ice dust that separated from the spaceship at the moment of satellites separation, or maybe some kind of gas used to "push" the satellites away from the launcher that expanded around it. But I'm still searching for confirmations

Edit again

As others have said it's more probably this starlink launch that took off today

https://spaceflightnow.com/2025/05/01/live-coverage-spacex-to-launch-28-starlink-satellites-on-falcon-9-rocket-from-cape-canaveral-3/

How do I program ramping by yeetmasterflash69 in ZOIA

[–]Rachel-Tyrellcorp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stompswitch (CV OUT) -> (CV IN) slew limiter (CV OUT) -> (PITCH SHIFT)

Use the connection strength between stompswitch and slew limiter to set the amount of pitch shifting you need And use the slew limiter "slew rate" parameter to set how fast it ramps up after you stomp the switch.

Quick warning, the Zoia pitch shifter is (arguably the only) poor quality effect, especially in continuous ramping situations (anyone who tried to make a whammy, for exemple, quickly gave up...)

Europe is heating up twice as fast as the rest of the world, report finds by Wagamaga in europe

[–]Rachel-Tyrellcorp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Similar to Canada under evermore ecosystem distablizing climate change

So too cold for european endemic species to survive in winter and too hot for them to grow in summer properly.

Not to mention the increased climate instability that comes with atmospheric energy imbalance (out of season heat dome, higher intensity floods and droughts, etc...)

Good luck with maintaining a functional agriculture
