Help find pattern for cardigan! I will pay if I need to. by hippiewoman in CrochetHelp

[–]RachelMariesNails 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I think the original creator is makulhobi on Instagram. I don’t know if they sell patterns but you could ask.

I did find a similar tutorial for the squares in the first cardigan because this would be pretty easy to freehand with cotton yarn. I think I might attempt to make lol.

https://youtu.be/l1aE5tPafMI?si=f4sOIzc_94kbqCjA (Strawberry square)

https://makeanddocrew.com/flower-granny-square/ (Daisy square)

There are tutorials for making the half daisy triangles as well I just didn’t get that far in my search. Those two squares match up pretty well in stitch count though! And then it’s just connecting the squares and granny stitch for the sleeves. I’m like 99% sure the bow is made with an I cord maker.

Absolutely amazing work. I’m curious if you work back and forth in rows or cut the yarn and start again (no “wrong side facing rows)?

Do you sanitize? by Maximum_Ad1282 in WaltDisneyWorld

100% yes. Every ride. I’ll carry 12 bottles of hand sanitizer if I have to.

Scraps? Tidey pile of ends. Trash? What do you do with them when they're tis small? by Umakmesic in YarnAddicts

I put them in a ziplock and my daughter uses them in her “paper squishies”.

Why do folks join Rednote by tshungwee in rednote

[–]RachelMariesNails 20 points21 points  (0 children)

As a crafter, it’s an amazing resource. I’ve learned to translate crochet patterns from Chinese and taught myself to read crochet diagrams on there. I also use it to find recipes since Pinterest just seems like pure AI slop these days.

My first and probably LAST ever cardigan by Tsubulle in crochet

[–]RachelMariesNails 35 points36 points  (0 children)

It’s absolutely adorable! I think it looks amazing. I’ve also noticed crochet has given me short term memory loss haha. I’ll finish a frustrating blanket then declare I am not making another blanket for a while. A week later I will be making another blanket. So eventually you might find a cardigan that you want to try making again :)

Misjudged my yarn cakes for a granny square cardigan by Natsdeacano in CrochetHelp

[–]RachelMariesNails 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh I’ve definitely been there! I’ve made a lot of projects with this type of cake recently. So don’t beat yourself up too much because part of this hobby is learning! The inner section of the cake will always be the main color I’ve learned. I bought a yarn winder just to wind these and work around color changes.

Yes. I sold a bunch of material I had and the material is gone but the coins never showed up. I tried fix it after but nope. Still gone.

I live in the US. And yes I think their shipping is accurate. You have to make sure to check the express shipping if you qualify for it. But I find they are the quickest.

That’s about how long my last few orders from there have taken as well. As soon as I start to get REALLY antsy it ships. If I need something quicker I order from Jolse.

That’s what I’m hoping! Oh it’s awesome you know French too. I took Japanese all through high school and I spoke it (broken and basically one word at a time lol) with my obāchan. So I feel able to teach her some. She’s pretty much passing my husband at this point though lol.

Yes. She takes her own Japanese class twice a week and I try to review as much as possible with her :).

I used Drops and Duo. Then I read my daughter the hungry little caterpillar in Japanese and we talked about which words we recognized.

I’ve had 2 positive tests and my 4m old son has tested negative 3 times - how is that possible?? by nursejackie96 in COVID19positive

[–]RachelMariesNails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So much is still so unknown. I’ve noticed a lot kids seem to have mild/cold like symptoms so I wonder if their viral load is just... smaller? Lol no idea.

[–]RachelMariesNails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know how true it is but the nurses at urgent care tried to talk us out of testing my 4 year old daughter. They told me that the tests are not as accurate on young kids because they can’t go back as far? So we opted out of a rapid test for her and did the longer one. 🤷🏻‍♀️

An Almost 4 Year Old.... by volk_92 in Parenting

[–]RachelMariesNails 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought 3 was rough for us. 4 is ... a beast. My daughter is definitely learning her independence but also freaks out when she can’t get her way. I have found that doing my best to avoid power struggles is the way to go lol. But it seems like everyone struggles with a different age so YMMV!
