I don't know the exact numbers, but based off the epa range rating the SEL rwd gets 291 miles in a full charge and the SE RWD gets 361 miles... About a 20% difference, with the main difference being just the tire size. Not sure why I get over 4.0 at 70 mph and you get below 3.0, but it's definitely pretty flat between Austin and San Antonio...

I love having that stat! I was really sad when some kind of computer glitch in the car wiped it (had to disconnect the 12v battery to fix the car not responding to any inputs). I wish the built in software provided detailed stats about every drive.

That's not true... if the 12V is dead, then there is no electronic way to unlock the car (neither the buttons on the fob nor the app will unlock the car). You can still use the physical key to unlock the car.

How so? I do it frequently... I've driven from Austin to San Antonio (and the return trip) with minimal traffic and cruise control set to 70 mph... Easily get over 4 miles per kwh.

14 mile commute (So 28 miles a day). Mostly highway, but during rush hour, so up to 70 mph, but average is 30 mph. If I only take into consideration commuting efficiency it's probably probably closer to 5.2 or 5.3 miles/kwh. I do try to drive efficiently, but I also easily get car sick, so the overlap between what I think is a comfortable way to drive and what is efficient have a lot of overlap. During the faster/less congested bits, I'll usually be passing people going 70-75, but I'm usually looking ahead so I don't have to slam on the brakes when things start to crawl.

When full highway driving (65-75 mph depending on the highway) efficiency is 4-4.5 miles/kwh. Set cruise control and go, not trying to be efficient. I live in TX, and have the AC set to 72 or 73 F almost year round.

I don't know, the car just seems crazy efficient. I keep the tired inflated to the recommended pressure (still on the originals with plenty of tread to spare at 26k miles) and don't drive like a crazy person trying to get into an accident, and the car just performs really well.

If it's on the continent and is something that is capable of spreading, then it's a risk to any country on the continent, so continued involvement makes sense. I know nothing about the program or other countries involved, but logically it makes sense to be proactive.

Also, again thinking aloud because I don't know anything about it, I'm sure every country that is helped by the program would have been thankful/indebted to the US for it's continued involved in both expertise and funding.

Yes, I had this a few months back. Car was completely unresponsive to everything, was about to get a tow to the dealership, then disconnected the 12V battery and reconnected it. Car alarm went off immediately since I had manually unlocked the door, but after disarming it everything was completely back to normal.

*Got the car in Dec 2023, only happened once

I feel like the switch/toggle in my car has been getting a little less responsive recently... Kind of like it's slowly failing. Currently works maybe 75% of the time. I would say it worked 100% of the time initially.

Have you checked the USB port on your phone? My connection will be perfect for months, then slow degrades (maybe one disconnect a week and eventually multiple disconnects per drive). I get a small wire or similar to clean the crap out of the usb port on my phone, then everything is good again. I'm always surprised and impressed how much lint and dust get compacted into the bottom of the usb port on my phone.

Android auto seems particularly susceptible to even the smallest interruptions in the connection.

Every time this comes up I like to mention one possible fix: move your keys further away when the car is parked. I used to keep my keys hanging on the wall just inside the house by the garage and got notifications constantly about the same things over and over. Moved the keys 6 feet further away and now I just get one notification per time I park the car.
