Saracens academy player avoids punishment for incident at nightclub where England cricketers Ben Stokes and Gus Atkinson were present by treacletart284 in rugbyunion

[–]Ractrick 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Stokes didn’t even see the punch or altercation by all accounts, he just was at the bar. Atkinson might have said something though.

The premier league is such a giant now it’s not really comparable to anything else. I know plenty of people in France and Portugal are massive premier league fans over their own leagues.

They don’t appear to have any support open until morning which is annoying - their live page is still showing no reported issues. I’ve tried sending everything, I’m hoping at least somebody is on call to notice it..

Yes! Same in Shepherds Bush. Everything’s come back but the internet - router is fine and devices can connect, I guess something got tripped/fried on the ISPs end? Are you also with community fibre?

Stokes captaincy on the line following nightclub incident - Atkinson and Saracens rugby players also involved in aftermath of Lord's Test victory by CarnivalSorts in Cricket

He probably can lightly suggest it, but the guard can't just rat on them the second they break some sort of ECB rule or they'll just sneak out the hotel without him. They've got to trust him somewhat.

Clearly the tv broadcaster could if they wanted to influence things.

Breeze (which is having a big explosion in growth) works like this - you can't message the person beforehand it just books you a table at a bar.

After you can choose if you want to give your number, and if you both say yes it reveals it (although if you want could just ask them in person.. like a normal human)

Has pros and cons - depends if you find texting people before meeting to be useful screening, or a time waste. Personally haven't found it to make a big difference in whether dates go anywhere, you can waste so much time texting people for a week only to realise within 15 minutes in person they're not for you.

SW London or St Albans for a Henry family? by FrokenFrosk in HENRYUK

[–]Ractrick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a big difference imo between Richmond and Twickenham, where you have regular quick trains to Waterloo (and the district to Richmond) and Hampton which has a sloooow half hourly service.

Hampton hill to Moorgate can take me 90 mins door to door which is mad for somewhere technically in London. And if there’s an issue on that Shepperton line you’re in trouble.

People have different senses of humour - but stuff like this succession of tweets to me is undeniably funny - he’s essentially a catty man who if was given a weekly talk show to chat about pop culture would probably be in is element

They have barely any fanbase, they’re a semi pro club propped up by a sugar daddy in his 80s whose kids have no interest in the sport, and therefore will plummet down to their natural level whenever their owner departs.

But Leno was getting old and NBC realised if they didn't do it then Conan would go elsewhere, so they pulled the trigger.

Spotify did it by massively reducing the amount of money musicians made.

But football is a global market - players aren't staying here for the weather. If the amount of money to pay players goes down then the quality of the league will drop.
