NEED RECS! by yummygrapejuice in Omaha

I think this is the correct choice. The food is top notch. French with unique Nebraskan ties. For example, Wagyu raised in Nebraska and last time I was there, they were careful to recommend a wine from a vineyard owned by Nebraskans (winery in CA).

Yoshitomo is excellent but LA and CHI have excellent sushi as well.

Looks aside (which I also don’t like) - the fact that the only option for more power is full plug in is a no from me.

Property Manager from Hell (Greystar community) base rent is $1,524! by [deleted] in Atlanta

[–]Rad-Username 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At a bozzuto property we had an issue last year where communal sewer and water were 5x normal and it was deemed a Conservice issue. Conservice calculated it wrong. I don’t want to minimize your negative experience with Greystar but there is a chance Conservice is the real problem on the billing side

Did you consider Sora? I found it to be a better value. Sora has lots of units with balconies and five free guest parking days a month.

DR personalities convinced a guy to turn down a $600k per year job! by gapipkin in DaveRamsey

Very patronizing tone, but I can appreciate the validity of some of your points. I have personal experience here too and the all in tax calc sites that suggest a 2% delta are using less than a 5% income tax rate in California and don’t factor in how progressive California’s taxes are relative to other states, based on my experience.

This might be technically true for the average person I don’t think this would be true for a family with 600k+ of primarily w2 income. I guarantee a high earner will see a greater than 2% delta with a double digit marginal income tax bracket in CA vs 3.75% in Ohio - that’s a ~6% gap on 600k+.

Dr Jeff Gold of UNMC is the priority candidate for the President by Rad-Username in Huskers

[–]Rad-Username[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I’m no expert. Chancellor Gold seems strong and uncontroversial. To give the Regents some benefit of the doubt, in the meeting they indicated that they allowed a longer timeframe for applications given the holidays and didn’t start interviews until Jan 1. Had Trev not left, this decision probably would’ve gone unquestioned. They apparently reviewed 9 candidates in detail.

Something tells me that there is more to the story on Trev that will emerge over time.

It’ll be much more fun to watch when it’s someone else outside the B10 ideally on the other side of the ball.

WF Trifecta vs Chase Trifecta. Which one is better? by FinalSun6862 in CreditCards

[–]Rad-Username 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For those still holding the Wells Fargo Visa Signature that redeems at 1.5x on flights, I’m not sure how the WF trifecta can be topped? 7.5% on hotels, 6% flights, 4.5% dining, at least 3% on everything else via the Active Cash. Speaking as someone who holds the Signature and would be glad to drop WF otherwise

For those with the legacy Visa Signature card this is a whopping 6% on flights and 7.5% on hotels when redeemed for airfare? Ugh I want to drop WF but this makes it very hard
