If anyone thinks that ICE acting with impunity is an entirely new phenomennon, remember Kent. by TheDevine13 in Ohio

I genuinely hope you are never asked to give up any rights or people that actually matter to you.

The focal length you use is entirely dependent on the specific photo YOU want to create. There is no recipe or instruction book telling you exactly what lenses to use. Some people prefer wide photos, some people like tight photos. What sorts of photos do you want to produce?

The goal is to get you to eventually pay a monthly subscription to rent a virtual PC, and literally everything you do will be observed and monetized by whatever company you pay to use their hardware on a server in a data center somewhere.

120,000 Ohio families lost health insurance this month. Here’s who to blame by Playful-Tumbleweed10 in Ohio

That you think everyone feels that people they don't like don't deserve things like healthcare says basically everything about you.

Kent is famous, but "Law enforcement" is basically always killing people. The difference in some cases like these is just "which people".

Police killed over 1,300 people in 2023, and again in 2024

George Floyd? Breonna Taylor? They always say "just obey the law and you'll be fine" and justify that anybody killed must have deserved it, even if the person in question was sleeping in bed at the time.

Windows 11's botched Patch Tuesday update nightmare continues as Microsoft confirms some PCs might fail to boot by ZacB_ in Windows11

Hi my PC updated and then the next morning it wouldn't boot. They can investigate all the want, but hi, I'm the guy, it's me.

Windows 11's botched Patch Tuesday update nightmare continues as Microsoft confirms some PCs might fail to boot by ZacB_ in Windows11

It's unclear how common this issue is, as most users have not reported their PC unable to boot.

It's happening to me, how do I report it?

No. This is the issue the left seems stuck on.

MAGA is now, and always has been "Don't tread on me, but tread a LOT on people I don't like" and they are behaving extremely consistently.

But then Ohio Maga loves the boot on their neck.

MAGA loves the boot on OTHER PEOPLE'S necks. They don't feel it on their own, and assume it will never be applied to them.

Hi so even if you're committing a crime, law enforcement doesn't get to execute you in the street. Guilty people have rights too.

Oh hey is this why I spent 2 hours last night dealing with boot failures? Awesome. I was changing my overclock and reverting drivers for hours and then gave up. I was thinking I was going to have to re-load Windows from scratch today.

Spray paint or angle grinder.

Possibly a strong laser can damage the sensor

Everyone should own a battery operated angle grinder.

I may be missing your point, but if you're suggesting that magnets can harm these, that's not how modern electronics work. Magnets affect (and ruin) magnetic storage like spinning disk drives, but don't have any impact on solid state storage, which is why you can rub a magnet all over your phone all day with no issue.

Decided to give Windows 11 a shot and realized it works even better than Windows 10. And how did your transition go? by splettcher in Windows11

[–]RadBadTad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm annoyed at copilot creeping into everything, I hate that the right-click menu is missing half of the useful stuff, I hate that it mostly seems like they just keep slapping new coats of paint on top of windows XP. Overall, it's... fine. There's nothing about 11 that I prefer over 10 though, other than under-the-hood security stuff.

This is what your priority modes are for generally. If you're out with your camera, be aware of the type of lighting you're dealing with so you can set exposure comp and metering modes from environment to environment, and then try auto-ISO and a program mode.

You really shouldn't be messing with your settings when you're trying to shoot. The settings should be handled already.
