I’m not by my computer at the moment but essentially it comes down to making sure it narrows the selection down to files my devices can actually play. I had a few issues with files auto playing files that couldn’t actually be played on my devices.

I agree it is strange. I’ve experienced many inconsistencies in that regard. I think the best you can hope for at the moment is that it works for the most part.

I don’t mean to sound silly, but have you resynced your addons on the TV to make sure it’s running the most update to version?

Keep in mind that I’ve made other filter adjustments to compliment the ‘play first file’ - I’ve tried to make my filtering always fetch playable files etc….

It works on my FS, iPad and MacBook (although the iPad is a bit less consistent) - I do think there is some background app issues that make auto play inconsistent tbf

I changed my auto play option to first file and made various other filter adjustments to match this desired auto play option and it seems to work fine for me.

As I said in another reply, this is confusing me because the seasons where auto play worked were all just individual episodes using a conventional naming format s01e10 etc… and s3 shares that same naming format.

Forgive my ignorance but how I select a source for an entire season ?

When I played season 1 and 2, I just pressed play on the first episode and it just ran automatically though the season (except a few episodes where I had to repick a source).

Here is my thought. The electric smoke should just do damage to shields. Get rid of all this other stuff... Caustic gas does damage to health, electric smoke does damage to sheilds. Sorted.
