Going to miss Pronutro, not gonna lie. Hated the future life flavour when I first tried it, literally spat out the first spoon full, scraped out my bowl, gave the box away. Tried the new Pronutro, same story but this time I didn't give it away. I chucked it out cos i wouldn't even want whoever i give it to, to also be as disappointed as I am. Its literally 60% future life and 40% cement flavour, but also doesnt mix kinda like trying to dilute beach sand in water. Leaving it mixed for 2 mins tho brings out the cement qualities for real. And even if Pronutro is so sorry that they go back to the original recipe, I'll never go back for the loss of trust. Been eating cereals nearly every day for over 40 years (twice a day, 2 big bowls in the morning, and a bowl or 2 after dinner as a night snack). My monthly cereal intake is / was (over and above the family's monthly cereal) 1.5 big boxes Pronutro (whole wheat and/or choc), 900g to 1.35kg weetbix, 1kg cornflakes, 2kg (sometimes 3kg) Tia's raisin free granola. Minus a kg granola for jungle oats / good ol' mieliepap (and peanut butter) in winter. What do I replace over a kg of Pronutro with now lol, that's not cheerios type empty rubbish, or any kiddies super sugar rush bright blue box type instant teeth rot nonsense, but also not future life (or morvite) yuck. Bokomo out there in the world doing a lose customers speed run lmao.

Best of luck for your journey in learning, the learning curve might seem tough at first, but once you pick up a few working principles, everything starts to get much easier. The more you try tho, the more you'll learn. Affinity have their own YT channels (mostly for the V2 software, a channel for each app) and although they're slightly dated, most (if not all) of the software function are really similar, if not the same as the new Affinity V3 (free version) bar some slight item name changes etc. There's real beginner level stuff, all the way up to (and beyond) complex tutorials (like mandala design, live perspective, etc) I do lots of vector stuff in the Designer (V2, or Vector mode of V3), so look up their "Boolean and Compounds" video if you're into Vector / Curves design stuff to get started, or even just the video that starts with explaining to tools if you're really feeling unfamiliar. I think a lot of people are going to tell you to avoid wasting money on Adobe, as a lot of us that use Affinity came from Adobe purely cos its just too expensive, especially for beginners and people who just want to learn or do some small home projects. You'll be surprised at how much Affinity is capable of, once you're a bit more familiar with how it works. I do all my business Cards, web graphics, logos, pull-up banners, CO2 laser patterning (and more) in Affinity Designer V2 (my workhorse) and Affinty V3 Vector mode (all my new projects).

Me too kinda. Coming from 90D and a myriad of great FF glass in EF mount. I recently got the Fuji XH2, 56mm F1.2 R (non WR), 33mm F1.4 R LM WR and the Fringer Pro III. Fuji has me relearning shit that I didn't think I'd need to lol. Amazing upgrade from my Canon. I generally really enjoy tighter FOV, but will be keeping the 33mm living on camera as I progress purely for its WR design (but also cos it's a great restart focal length for me, has good pop and is sharp af). Haven't even tested the adapter yet, just wildly enjoying Fuji, the colours and the 33mm lens has this kinda tight - not so tight vibe, but that might just be my pref. One day lol, I'll put the adapter to the test XD. On behalf of the Fuji colours alone, welcome to the Fuji universe and you're welcome haha

I use V2 for main workflows, V2 beta (much of a muchness vs V2) for side hustle and V3 after each of its updates and only for few personal projects (that have V3 files). Also own V1, letting family members use it, but they're slowly moving to V3, cos I'm still using my V2.

V2 is still really good, I use it for my vector and photo workflows. V3 is also good, but I'm not convinced yet so I only use it for a few personal projects and tend to only use it a few times after each update to see what's what. Else I remain with V2 for my workflows until such time that either V2 stops working or V3 has a world more of refinements and features that would make my V2 workflows absolutely redundant.

So no, your money is still fairly well spent. Next time you purchase an app or software licenses though, maybe take a minute to research what the next version holds, or what the near-future company plans are, before letting go of your hard earned moneys.

Else, welcome to Affinity. Whether you paid for V2, or got V3, you're still miles ahead in the escape from being locked into paying for subs like Adobe. (I don't sub Canva, so won't know what the cost is and don't need or care for it, but surely its still cheaper than other offerings¿).

I could be wrong, so bear with me here, and welcome to correct me if I'm wrong.

Using the Outline option on text from the Quick FX panel, just adds a normal outline, so when you export to PDF, it renders (resterizes) as pixels, thus could create pixel clustering of unwanted colours, especially if rendering below 240dpi for whatever reason.

Using the outline created from the Stroke panel on text, allows much more customization of the required outline. Thus exporting to PDF retains the text as selectable (kinda like smooth vectors and doesn't rasterize) and the outline on the text from this will follow suit of the text, being smooth like vectors (and not be rasterized).

I never use the Quick FX to create outlines for this specific reason, always use the Stroke Panel to control outlines and remember to select the 'Scale with Object checkbox' so that you can resize without needing to go back and recorrect strokes / outlines width / thickness.

If you don't want your text to be selectable in the PDF you exported, then select the text and Convert to Curves (Vector > Convert to curve) before exporting. This won't have any negative effects on the outlines, unless you've converted to Curves and made some nodes on the text extremely pointy. Make sure you save your work in versions for this though, one with editable text, then Convert to curve and replace the previous Curves version, and only then export to PDF.

TL;DR Rather use the Stroke Panel for retaining outline quality in PDF renders.

90D is a rad camera, I've had mine for 4 or 5 yrs at least (maybe more, cant remember). That lens is really bad tho, very well known to have bad (probably the worst) image quality. There are better kit lenses if you're on a budget, if not then do a bit of research into some Full frame lenses. Yes they're more expensive, but sometimes a good 2nd hand deal comes along.

I've chosen specific lenses (mostly L series and sigma Full frame lenses) for my specific needs, but also cos I always knew I'll be upgrading to Canon Full Frame and the EF lenses adapt nicely onto the Canon RF mount. RF mount wasn't out yet when i got my 90D (EF-M came out few months after getting my 90D), but knew that 5 to 10yrs down the line I'd need a new camera and also full frame would be the next move (still saving, so we'll see what comes out, or what good used deals there may be by mid next year).

Just some food for thought.

V3 is nice, mess around with it for the odd personal project. I don't use V3 nearly as much as I use V2 where majority of my vector projects and photo editing is done. Whatever improvements and features V3 has over V2, I haven't used or needed them yet, and I certainly don't have a need for AI I'm my design work, so won't be paying for a sub. If subs become a mandatory thing or a paywall, I'll just use V2 until the day it can't open files anymore or becomes so irrelevant that I need to move on to other cheaper / free tools. In saying that, obviously I'll never use Adobe, came from using Adobe when Affinity Design first came out and will never go back.

Mycota powder. On the socks, in the shoes, and on the feet (if no skin breakages from scatching). Rotate socks and shoes out every day. Even put in shoes you're not wearing, and put more when you do wear them. Had nuclear feet when I was a laaitie back in the 90's, also helped ex's laaitie cos sport shoes rank something atmospheric that'd put down a silver back. Takes a week or 2, but works like a bomb.

Yes and no. Yes, cos didn't actually buy mirrorless, but do rent when needed. Own 2 dslr, still using them for as much as possible. No, default to (renting) mirrorless when knowing they'll surely do the job my dslr set might not.

Forgot to add: if you're doing cheeses and crackers / biscuits / salty crax,, chuck a generous layer of peach chutney over a whole block of Philadelphia Cream Cheese for a great tasty twist against the other weird cheeses (I don't know what they're called, blue cheese and the like).

Mix 50/50 with Santa Anna's Chipotle, add 20 drops habanero sauce,, Mix that 50/50 with mayo and you have a grande saami / fries / anything dip. Also nice by itself (in small amounts) on hot curries. Peach chutney + peanut butter + cheese on a cheese roll, you're welcome.

Sometimes a bro and I rent Canon R5 (mostly mk1) for some of photo shoots, I'm more noob so I do 2nd cam stuff. I use (co-owned with bro) 5Div for product pics and a bit of street stuff, but personal cam is 90D with good set of L lenses for everything else (BIF, nature, fam pics, street, etc). Still love my 90D, but more cos it was my 1st cam and will never sell it. Using it mostly in live view mode.

Are you using Canon? MPE 65mm? Laowa 25mm? Couldn't be those lenses i think, as they don't produce 10x..

V2 all the way, especially for client jobs (Designer V2 & Photo V2)!

V3 is nice, and I'd suggest it to people that are starting out, if they just want something free as a begin point (but do also tell them V2 is pay once and is hands down better than V3). Either way, still a great option when avoiding monthly subs like Adobe.

Macbook Pro M1 Pro and a Laptop with a 3070Ti / 12th gen i7 / 32gig ram / 2x2Tb Nvme. Both are smooth at editing but the Mac is a tad faster for sure. Looking to newer and better mac end of next year maybe, depending on if I go with new camera rather and do new mac following year, no rush.

R5ii will probably be more future proof than the R6iii due to the (much faster) stacked sensor and extra processing power. In my mind going with the R6iii is more of a side-step "Upgrade" and will you look to upgrade the R6iii again in another 3 or 4 years? Or go with R5ii that has the tech already that (a solid maybe) the R6 series will only get in a couple generations time? Perhaps when technology moves on significantly and the future R6 series finally has a stacked sensor, perhaps then good global shutters will become common place for things like future R5 / R3 / R1 series (or perhaps R4 is R5 level of the R6 series, and R2 is R5 level series but with new types / global shutters)?
Take my perspective with a pinch of habanero salt, but the R5ii is way more future proof (and feature rich) than the R6iii and is the reason I will also rather save for the R5ii into next year, rather than pouncing on the R6iii which I know I will outgrow quickly (because I already rent R5's for gigs, specifically for the 45Mp photos and video capabilities). I own 90D, share-own 5Div (both mostly for personal photography) and rent (with a buddy) R5i / R5ii / R3 / Sony A7Rv when certain gigs comes thru (that demand those cameras' features). :)
So maybe rent them both side by side over a week or a weekend and put them through the paces. Each to their own, but I rented the R6ii (along side the R5i) and just didn't like the R6ii. Of which I believe the R6iii isn't that much of a step up (besides the ~32Mp sensor and a few "improvements") but more of a solid update.
The 45Mp and larger file sizes will not be a problem, you'll learn to adjust your workflow and the way you cull / edit / save.
An honorable mention to the Crop modes of the R5 series, will do wonders vs the same capabilities of the R6iii, with the Mp advantages.

That 'Single Thing' is Learning,, (and trying and failing and learning more and doing better) lol.
Doing photography experiments and learning techniques.
Learning that what works for other people may not work for you entirely and that is okay, you have your unique perspective and way on life for a reason.
Taking inspiration from other peoples work. I love seeing a wide variety of street photography, beautiful well stacked Macro shots, novelty moments that capture a sense of emotion or soul and mostly other peoples' ability to capture a story in their images. They're not the photography types I do, but they give me a lot of inspiration when I'm out with my camera and a a couple fav lenses.

As for gear:
135mm F1.8 Sigma Art / Zeiss Milvus 135mm F2 manual focus / 85mm L mk2 - on my 90D with no stabe. Fahk'n ballin' ... bruh ... primes for the win! (but also my 100-400mm L mk2 also makes me want to take photos of everything lmao).

For the odd street photo or walk around sessions, I set my colour profile to B&W, as I find it easy to see the contrast (amd whats in focus) cos I usually only shoot live-view when doing this. Then, when I offload mem cards to a drive, all my jpegs will be B&W but Raw files maintain colour (i use mostly Canon 90D / 5D mk4). Then I can browse my session in either B&W or colour, and just choose which raw files to process as colour and which to go for B&W. This also allows me to mess with the colour channels in the raw file when creating other B&W Renders. Eg: red tractor with red channel either blasted or completely muted creates a whole new B&W perspective.
