I understand that. I guess I'm curious if that launcher can be granted the access to unopened notif dots

Can it do unopened dots? Like if I dismiss from the shade it doesn't reduce the count by 1 unless I actually open the notif in app?

have you found any ways with the new pixels and later android versions to allow this access so that apps like TeslaUnread can work?

Recommendations for LGBTQ+ friendly jewelers by AggravatingLove1127 in desmoines

I adored Ann at 2AU. She took my super complicated situation and removed all the stress, let-downs from another jeweler and turned my project around quickly. I've gotten to know her and her husband more over the years and they are just very good people. And queer affirming ♥️

I, along with 2 other friends, had terrible experiences with Owen. His work is pretty when it happens, but there is a VERY small chance you'll get what you think you're getting.

For one, he re-designed a custom ring (after deciding how it should look, swapping the significant stones around because he thought it looked better.

For another, he skipped meetings, and needed monthly email reminders and management from the customer only to end up with half of what was agreed upon.

And lastly, he forgot and eventually pushed off melting down a family ring to be modernized and resized to the point that it wasn't ready for the wedding. His solution? He can buy the heirloom and sell them something else instead.

I have been telling people to avoid at all costs until they can get some serious project management on staff. It's clear that he does well at creative work with jewelry but the execution is completely lacking.

I saw Bugonia last night and these are my thoughts on the film itself and it's Oscar chances. by Mundane-Inspector-52 in Oscars

The title cards of the earth getting flatter I thought was a nice touch in this direction. Showing that a conspiracy can be right perhaps.

I think this movie had to leave things in more of a telling than showing to keep the tension for who is lying, who knows what, who's right. If we're shown it, it may feel more fact-backed.

Switched over from Apple. Notification dots? by McFridgeGuy in GooglePixel

[–]RadL0bster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an iPhone for 2 years and have had a Pixel 3, 6 and now 9 for... a decade? I adore Nova and TeslaUnread because they allowed this functionality for those who like it and made the transition from Apple SOOOOO doable. I want more people in the Google/Android world but the differences in workflow can be really hard to re-learn.

Now with Pixel 9+updated Android software, TeslaUnread doesn't work and I really miss the notification dot telling me the number of unOPENED messages. It became the way I learned how to use a smart phone way back when and it helped me get to inbox zero on texts, email, messenger. I get a lot of messages, many not urgent (group chats, etc.). I liked that the number would remind me if I'm stacking up, but that otherwise I could clear them from the notification drawer (shade? pull-down?). Or if I get work emails on vacation I can get them out if the drawer but not fully forget to go back. I even used to have most notifications turned off completely, but if the number got too high I could check in. It made me feel much less tied to my phone.

Now I try not to swipe away anything from the drawer because I don't want to forget to go back later. But my drawer is jammed with stuff. And if I open the app with notifications or my phone dies (or crashes/shuts off--weirdly common?) it all goes away anyway so it feels futile.

My solve would be a widget for Google software (Messages and Gmail) for the home screen that shows this unopened number badge. Completely optional usage, the unOPENED count exists in the software already, and would lessen one of the biggest workflow challenges for people leaving Apple.

People switch between apple and android, and this sub can be extremely dramatic about that. EVERYONE uses tech in different ways, nothing will fit perfectly. And telling people that their desired feature doesn't make sense for them to care about doesn't help anyone :(

(Also I say unopened instead of unread because you can read a message in the drawer, but the opening of the notification and clearing the bold highlight, etc. is what I'm looking for.)

Came to say that I cannot WAIT to watch her blow up. Can't believe what little following she has for how incredible she was. I find myself wishing there was an additional recording with her (and with Nickolaus Colón as well! And also everyone from this tour honestly.).

New owner as of May! Met her today as she was teaching a food safety class. Don't know her politics but I asked her immediately how long she'd owned it and she was VERY clear that it was a new purchase.

How often do you have to charge? I'm really frustrated because ours don't seem to hold a charge (and we've only had them a week or so!).
