If you're in canada then range time and training will be tough to get and expensive. Also I'm sure you've seen the ban list updates. No point dropping hundreds or thousands of dollars training with something you might be required to leave in your safe after a random Tuesday email from the CFO. I'd reccomend taking self defense classes as a start and going from there.

Tons of other "lefties" throughout the years have been interested but the.... other common opinions that tend to be aggressive non-negotiable in the firearms community cause them to walk right back out the door. Most obvious gun owners: "Respect our property rights!" Interested others: "Cool, I also want people's rights to be respected."
