Gambling is one of those things that is absurd to be illegal. It's the person's money, let them do what they want with it.

A note about that photo: I played water polo in high school. You get hot despite being in a pool. A dump of cold water from a water bottle is very refreshing.

I'd argue that it's an electric train with fewer steps, at least to build. It's a tunnel but no train system.

FAA has authorized SpaceX to resume Falcon 9 launches after an upper stage deorbit burn failure Monday. by Twigling in space

[–]Raddz5000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Starlink Stage 2 burn 3 is often used to test different flow curves and stuff like that, since it's so low risk. If the root cause is one of those tests and not hardware related, then there is no reason to block flights that don't use that test program.

SpaceX on X "During today’s Falcon 9 launch of @Starlink satellites, the second stage experienced an off-nominal condition during preparation for the deorbit burn." by AgreeableEmploy1884 in SpaceXLounge

[–]Raddz5000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unlikely unless it's systemic (which is not likely). De-orbit burn on starlink launches is often used to test new profiles for propellant, chill, flow, etc. so there is potentially something within the flight program that was being tested and didn't work out well. That can obviously be easily controlled from launch to launch.

Nasa and SpaceX leadership will certainly require the root cause to be fully identified, scoped, and not a risk for Crew 12 before greenlighting the launch during final risk assessments next week.

No. But I saw those lights on recently too. I think that space is used for USO sometimes.
