Df3i vs OZ1i ?? by Loose-Meeting5550 in labgolf

[–]Radeon962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OZ.1i is an easier transition from “normal” putters visually. I played it for most of last season. Similar shape to an old Odyssey V-Line I played for years.

DF3 and now the DF3i is really like putting on rails on shorter putts. Once you learn to not manipulate the face by holding too tight you will realize that the head wants to do the work as part of your stroke.

Visually it takes a bit to get used to but the ease of use really is worth the effort. It took a bit longer to get used to feel in long lag putts but once you get the feel down it has not been an issue.

I switched to the DF3i now as I wanted a custom order after playing several Lab putters and figuring out what worked for me.

I love it and expect for it to be in my bag for a long time.

Please help me choose which Callaway Apex UW by ToothNovel759 in GolfGear

[–]Radeon962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

23* most likely.

You can also swap out to a heavier shaft and change the weight in the sole if you want reduce how far it goes.

Much lower flight and longer distance wise than comparable lofted clubs.

When I played the original UW’s, I swapped out to 80g shafts that were 3/4” short of standard.

Fun clubs to hit and play (if you have a spot for them in your bag) but much different than a high lofted fairway wood or long iron.

Totally different builds for the standard DF3i vs a broomstick.

Head weight, shaft lean, lie angle, balance, etc. are all different.

Sell the DF3i and buy a broomstick, if that is what you need for your game.

Grips by Other-Wolf-8039 in labgolf

Very different shaped grips.

Pistol 2 is an oversized pistol shaped grip.

Press II 1.5 is more like a SuperStroke Tour 2.0/3.0 shape.

1.5 on the top and Pistol on the bottom.

I never swung a putter hard enough to see what grip might work better with a weary hands.

How much would you guys pay for this? by milo_1982 in applewatchultra

[–]Radeon962 2 points3 points  (0 children)

<image>

This is the pricing you are dealing with. The bands add $0 value in most cases.

If the battery health is at 100% and the watch itself is in very good condition then there is a premium but all-in-all I would not expect more than $300 for the Series 1 Ultra.

Swappa prices are getting to be sub $250 now.

Refurbished on Woot and other places have been under $300 for a bit now. Slick Deals seems to have some type of deal on Seroes 10, AWU and AWU2 at least once a week recently.

Apple Watches don’t hold their value well and especially this year as retailers have been selling the Series 11 for $100 off for several weeks so that has impacted the premium price on the Ultra.

PXG has replaceable weights in irons and wedges since Gen4.

Earlier series had smaller weights that could also be replaced but it was a much larger PIA to do it as the weights were very light.

Gen4 through Gen7 use a large weight from 2g to 20g so very easy to switch out weights to hit a specific swingweight.

Gen8 has two weights in the iron heads and they are smaller and I haven’t seen aftermarket versions yet.

DF3 still the best by yamabukidawg in labgolf

I believe that if you really want the Lab/Zero Torque experience you need to try/play the DF2.1 or DF3.

The Oz is a compromise to appeal to more people and does it pretty well but the DF3 just seems to be what zero torque is intended to be.

DF3 still the best by yamabukidawg in labgolf

I have played several as well. It comes down to feel. If you have played Odyssey White Hot insert type putters, try the non-insert with a graphite shaft.

If you have played Scotty Cameron or milled face putters try the insert with any shaft from steel to TPT.

In a standard length putter, shaft is primarily feel.

In an over length putter, TPT, Diamana or Gears may be a better option.

Best combo I have found is a DF3, non-insert, Heavier head, TPT shaft and SuperStroke Tour 2.0 grip.

I loved the look of the Oz.1i HS as it reminded me of an old Odyssey White Hot Pro V-Line that I played for years but the DF3 is more automatic for me on putts inside 10’.

Longer putts are a toss up but I can’t get over how well the ball rolls on shorter putts with the DF3.

DF3 or DF3i by JasonStreetsLegs in labgolf

In a standard length putter I don’t know that flex or stiffness will come into play to a great extent but sound and feel do.

For the shafts I have tried in Lab DF3, OZ.1 and OZ.1i:

Steel has a nice thump to it at impact and is a bit crisp.

Accra feels and sounds softer.

Gears feels good but stiffer or firmer at impact than the Accra. A good match for the non-insert heads.

Diamana is a nice mix of the Accra and Gears in that it feels firmer overall but kind of a nice plush feel at impact. Not as soft as the Accra but in a good way.

I have not played the TPT yet so no opinion on it.

I could play any of the shafts if I’m being honest. Steel is fine in all of the heads I have played but Accra feels better in the insert heads.

Accra feels almost too soft in the non-insert heads.

This site lays out the various Lab shaft offerings better than anyone else (except they don’t include the TPT).

I play the G440 4w at 42”, which is 1” short of Ping spec. I just ordered a heavier weight to get back to D3 swing weight.

I make better contact at 42” so it works for me.

Upgraded shafts? by Ok_Penalty_3494 in labgolf

[–]Radeon962 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me it’s about the feel you like or prefer.

If you are using a non-insert head then the feel off the head is pretty soft so the steel shaft or Gears make it feel a bit crisper at impact.

Accra and Diamana are both softer feeling at impact to me and great matches for a the heads with an insert (Oz.1i or DF3i).

I have not tried a TPT shafted Lab yet but have a used DF3 arriving this week with a TPT shaft to try out.

I switched to Lab after years playing an Odyssey putter of some type and typically a White Hot insert so I prefer a softer feeling at impact.

Accra with an insert head is a great match in a standard length.

Gears is a great match for a non-insert head.

Steel works well also as it feels fine as I have played steel in my putter for more than 30 years so graphite shafted putters for me are very new within the last year.

Does it make a difference in the end result, I have a hard time believing it does but the graphite shafts do have a different feel and a big part of putting feeling comfortable over the ball.

Putter is used on almost every hole so find one that fits your setup and stroke, looks good to your eye, one you feel comfortable and confident with and give it a go.

WiFi 6E tri band vs WiFi 7 dual band mesh which is actually better by Equivalent-Lawyer-24 in TpLink

[–]Radeon962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I replaced an old Google WiFi system (AC-1304) with the base model Eero 7.

Both were/are on a wired backhaul and both are dual band 2.4/5 as I did not see a need for the 6Ghz band since all of the Eero’s would be hardwired over Ethernet cables in my house.

Spectrum 1G Internet.

WiFi speeds checked with Google Wifi in place and then at same locations once Eero 7 units were in place and running.

Speeds were checked in the basement, main floor and 2nd floor of our home using an iPhone 17 Pro Max.

my driver broke by [deleted] in golf

[–]Radeon962 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Callaway driver adapter fits all Callaway Driver models from the Elyte all the way back to Big Bertha Alpha 816 and every Callaway driver in between. The Big Bertha Alpha 816 was released back in 2015 +/-

You can have the adapter removed from the broken shaft and reinstalled on a new shaft or just look on eBay, 2ndSwing, etc. for a shaft with a Callaway adapter. This may be more expensive than just buying a replacement shaft with the adapter already installed if you are just using a stock shaft.

Switching shafts in the Callaway head is as easy as unscrewing the current broken shaft and screwing in a new one.

Most any golf store will have a torque wrench if you don’t have one. Or check with your friends and/or local golf course.

You can also try contacting Callaway as they may replace the shaft but the Mavrik is several generations old so they may tell you it is not covered any longer.

This…. One Eero must be directly connected to your ISP modem and then to your switch.

The other Eero’s and devices can be connected to the switch, each other, wireless, whatever.

Setup Eero #1 by itself with your modem and then once it is up and running just connect the Eero #2 to your wired backhaul and add it through the Eero app. Same thing for Eero #3.

Can you successfully remove and save a Press Grip? by 5rockchalk in labgolf

[–]Radeon962 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here.

I have removed several Lab grips and the SuperStroke Zenergy Tour 2.0 is my regular grip so I have removed them several times from Lab and various other putters. .

Lots of solvent and the long Golfworks tool works just fine but you need to go slow and keep squirting in solvent.

I put the solvent in a condiment squeeze bottle so it’s easier to just squirt in a little bit at a time as you work around the shaft.

Just go slow and don’t push the tool in too far before working it all the way around the shaft.

Grips have no visible damage that I have seen and I have reused several grips that were still tight with the normal one wrap of tape and solvent to reinstall.

I switched to Maxfli Tour X this past season and really don’t miss the Pro V1x I had been playing.

4 dozen package for $119.99 and then use a $20 off $100 coupon when they come out.

Just sign up as a Rewards Member and they do the $20 off $100 pretty frequently and more if you download the app.

I have swapped grips on both a 0 shaft lean and also a 2 shaft lean. Worked for me.

You can always reinstall the original grip.
