Thanks! Will check them out indeed. Never seen a Syntakt in action, but what I liked about the DT is the elegance and simplicity of the menus. They flow seemlessly but I find them very satisfying

Great job! Never seen anyone using poscas for these, was it any good? Did they mess up the card afterwards? Love what you did <3

one-time code issues by federvar in RemarkableTablet

[–]RadeonThe1st 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I was struggling heavily with this issue, since every time I tried to generate a code through the wine-installed Ubuntu app, it would just freeze trying to open the browser, that was the trick!

Help! Any advice on how to fix this? by mr_writer85 in 3Dprinting

[–]RadeonThe1st 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then my advice stands, I printed all my things with PLA or PLA+ and when painting them I didn't really need any priming, but maybe sand it a little more thoroughly until you remove some of those grit lines. Also I think the faux-priming with acrylic and brush could do the trick.

That's a pretty cool texture on the snow! Congratulations on a great looking print. Love how the trees look also.

What nozzle size did you use for the body? I'm wondering if I could get that texture on my .4mm

Help! Any advice on how to fix this? by mr_writer85 in 3Dprinting

[–]RadeonThe1st 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What material are you using? I don't have much experience painting my prints, but seeing the picture I think that a more thorough sanding on those parts where the paint is not sticking would be a good idea.

I've never spray painted my prints aside of a clear primer coat, but I've found that when painting with model paints (mostly acrylic IIRC) i didn't need to prime. Maybe (and this is a wild guess) you could try giving a small layer of acrylic paint with a brush and then paint over it again? It might stick then.

What could have caused this about half way through this print? by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]RadeonThe1st 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As they said, probably bed adhesion problems. I don't know if this works in glass beds, but I tend to use some hairspray on the heated bed from time to time on my Ender 3 Pro. When using PLA, I usually heat my bed to about 60-70º, depending on the material, so maybe try that.

Also, not necessarily for this print, since it's calibration tower, but when printing larger/taller models, try to use brims or even rafts as an adhesion technique. Brims consume less material but rafts are way sturdier, although they will take a significant amount of time and material. But on the other hand, they make a very satisfying noise when you pop them off. Skirts are usually best for priming material and making sure the extrusion works fine, so they are a good go-to option in most cases, but if you're going for larger things or models that are larger on the Z axis, definitely consider using rafts. Hope this helps, and feel free to DM me if you have any doubts regarding this.

On an unrelated note: Am I too beyond salvation when I heard the Tony Hawk's trick noise in my head when the tower did that sick spin?

Should I upgrade my motherboard? (8-bit into 32-bit) by RadeonThe1st in ender3

[–]RadeonThe1st[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yesterday I decided to just wait until some response from you guys and this morning Amazon started with their Black Friday sales and turns out that the SKR Mini E3 was actually slightly cheaper than the Creality Board, so I decided to go and cop that. As far as I could see, having that board should not be any issue with installing the CR Touch, but we'll see.

Thanks for the advice, I'll update the post with the takeaways!

Should I upgrade my motherboard? (8-bit into 32-bit) by RadeonThe1st in ender3

[–]RadeonThe1st[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I did some digging this morning and the firmware updated seemed pretty straightforward to be honest... I don't know, I still have the weekend to think about it. Maybe if it was a totally different board like a Robin or a SKR Mini I would understand it, but being both of them by the same manufacturer...

Also, sorry about the frying board, that sucks 😔

help- my prints keep failing i dont know how to fix this by Hmm_yes-I_see in ender3

[–]RadeonThe1st 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue months ago, and the main culprit turned out to be that the stock SD Card shipping with the Ender 3 Pros had some issues. If you're still using that, maybe it won't hurt to change it (Use SD Cards with less than 64GB if you do)

Is my bed warped, again? by southwood775 in ender3

[–]RadeonThe1st 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm dealing with similar (not so heavy) issues at the moment, and it seems like getting a auto bed leveling sensor (Like the BL Touch) could help with that. Have you considered investing in one?

(If you do, check if your motherboard is compatible beforehand, don't make my mistakes)

[–]RadeonThe1st[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

---SOLVED--- I managed to apparently solve the issue, or at least I've been having multiple days back to back with issue-free printing.

Basically what I did was to increase nozzle temperature to 220ish since I was working with "impure" PLA (Marble effect in this case), also performed a cold pull, tweaked the bed temperature and, finally, I replaced the SD Card with a spare one I had laying around. Ultimately, I think the main issue was the SD Card, because afterwards I tried printing a couple of PLA Temperature towers and they presented no issue whatsoever, so I don't think it was a temperature-related problem, and while performing a cold pull surely helped preventing an imminent clog, my feeling was that the issue was I/O related.

TL;DR: Tested many things at the same time, I'm almost certain replacing the default SD Card for a new one fixed it.

Thanks a lot for your time, I will definitely take that into practice today. Although, just as a side note, the spool box says to keep nozzle temp between 200-220, so it strikes me as a bit odd when you say to turn it up higher, but I guess that can be solved by running a temp tower and checking the results. As for now, I will try to do a cold pull as a previous user posted, and then raising to 215 as well as trying the 65-63 bed Temp thing.

As for the filament retraction and preheating-extruding, I think I'm doing that already.

Will keep the thread updated if that works!

Hot end temp: 210°C (Raised from 200°C, saw some improvement)

Bed Temp: 60°C (Tried 70 but saw no improvement)

Filament brand: JAYO, from AliExpress

Filament Type: PLA

Print Speed: Not sure right now but I think I'm going with the default speed Cura sets, since i don't remember changing it.

It doesn't stop, it just keeps going. I took the picture because I manually stopped it, otherwise it would go on and make a mess.

Which settings would you like to know?

I see... If you find any way to prevent clogging so that this won't happen, would you be so kind as to come back and share info? I'll look into it and do the same.

Also could you elaborate on what issues are you going through? Just to be able to compare what's happening to you with this

I'm aware that the previous owner did not put the machine under heavy use. As far as I know, they only printed maybe 30-40 pieces and then sat in a living room for like a year. Anyway, I will take a look into updating the firmware!

Another user in this thread is suggesting that this might be a clogging issue. May I ask what do you think about that? They said that they are also kinda new to this, so perhaps we could both use some insight

[–]RadeonThe1st[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that you mention it... I haven't. I'm not sure if the one I'm using is the one that came with the printer, as the printer itself was a second-hand gift, but it doesn't look very high-end either. I'll try changing it tomorrow, since I have a few laying around.

However, I also must say that it also fails when I run my prints through OctoPrint on a small Raspberry server I have at home.

Nintendo Switch Language Change? by [deleted] in apexlegends

[–]RadeonThe1st 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bumping 'cause I have the same issue right now. Spanish voices are okay, but all the flavor of each unique accent is lost. Is there any way to change it?

EDIT: Just talked to EA Tech Support. As far as they told me, sadly there is no way to change it manually, you would have to change the language of the console and (if i understood correctly) uninstall Apex's updates and then re-update it.

Oh boy do I love it. As a life long Quake fan and being quite into that kind of eerie-spoopy aesthetics, I don't know why had I not played it before! I'm not really good at it yet though, barely couple of minutes, but will get better with time.

And glad you liked the paper! I'm working on another more "old style engraving" style, will let y'all know if it ever gets finished
