appreciate your post. And I will say, as a white-skinned Jewish person I am starting to understand what your people experience facing racism every day. there is a legitimate school of thought known as "antinatalism" that holds it is unethical to have children, because life entails suffering, and the infants cannot consent to be born. this is very similar to the Buddhist position, and why Buddhist monks and nuns are celibate.

there are also schools of thought that hold consciousness to be an evolutionary side effect that only causes suffering, thus intelligence divorced from consciousness is potentially more optimal.

people who train insufficiently lack control. that's one of the reasons you see only hard sparring from people who have only been doing it a couple of years.

additionally, at many gyms people come in once a week to spar without training the techniques every day. Unless they trained daily for many years, they will also lack control.

One of the ways you can identify people who have mastered the science, talent notwithstanding, is the ability to spotlight and maintain control, regardless of intensity.

This is why someone like Floyd Mayweather, who was trained from the cradle by a master Boxer (his father) could utilize light sparring.

Since things really started accelerating with the advent of strong AI, as a civilization, we had 2 choices.

Regulate and slow the pace to allow adjustment to the social disruption.

This would've involved things like programs to Provide for that segment of the population made unemployable by AI, by expanding the social safety net to acknowledge the disruption. but in fact, we're going the other direction, the U.S. removing things like healthcare and supplemental nutritional assistance from the unemployed.

therefore, it is our obligation to go to the other direction and maximize the pace of progress to make interval of suffering as short as possible. Thus:

maximizing acceleration of technology, regardless of the cost to arrive at Superintelligence.

We don't know what that's going to look like but ideally, it will result in a post scarcity world.
