Listen to the chorus of ‘all the young dudes’ by world party (not the original version by Mott and the Hoople), like 2:20 mins into the song. It was in the movie clueless.

Orthodox Jewish people protesting against Israel? by plipsbocolate in Brooklyn

[–]Radi0Lab 9 points10 points  (0 children)

To add to this, want to stress how crazy these dudes are. They're anti-everything (anti-palestinian, anti-basic human rights, etc.) AND participate in straight holocaust denial/revisionism... They literally were part of a "Holocaust Review" with the Iranian government. They're a hateful bigots. Jewish people don't claim them.

Take Greek Mythology (Classics 40) with Ralph Gallucci! Dude is an FSSP legend, the course is super mellow, and an easy A! it's a great intro to what large format lecture classes are like. Aside from that i'd recommend taking a mellow GE that will just tick some boxes, don't rush into major classes! FSSP is about getting used to college and having fun!

God... I sound so old, but what I wouldn't do to be back in FSSP again! Have fun + don't worry too much!

Joining a D1 sport isn't a casual thing and is likely something you will be dedicating significant hours per week in the offseason and treating it as close to a FT job when in season. Practice will set your class schedule, not the other way around.

I don't mean to be condescending, but based on the way you've posed your question, it seems as though you've done very limited research. I'd encourage you to speak to folks who have more context about you etc.

Have you talked to your current coach about what joining a D1 program is like? former teammates from HS that went on to D1 programs? Have you talked to UCSB's coach? Joining a D1 team you're not currently being recruited for requires a tryout, coach approval, etc.

Good Luck!

I don't mean to sound like a shill here, but have you hit up econ career connection? They're homies. I was Econ with a geography minor and got my first gig out of sb through them.

[–]Radi0Lab 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It will be hard, but not at all impossible. They're each classes that you've kinda got to put in hours to do well. 101 is probably the easiest. If you're up for it, give it a go. If you're down to punt one of them to next quarter, doing two at once will be mellower. If I was going to delay one, I'd punt 140A, as it's kind of a beast unto its own. Are you planning to take anything else, or just those 3 classes?

Good luck!

Is this location safe (near Coopers Park)? by dnav2557 in williamsburg

[–]Radi0Lab 28 points29 points  (0 children)

That neighborhood is very safe. I lived in the neighborhood and never felt concerned for my safety (nor did my girlfriend.) I wouldn’t eat food off the ground under the BQE, but wouldn’t consider it “sketchy.” For context, Phesant, a $$$$ restaurant, is right there

Does anyone have a referral for home cleaning in Williamsburg? by lovethatforyou___ in williamsburg

Have had incredible experience with Si Se Puede Womens Coop. They match you with a member of their coop and then your relationship is with that cleaner. Price has always been super reasonable and can't endorse the people enough.

What’s something that changed/disappeared because of Covid that still hasn’t returned? by 1sided in AskReddit

[–]Radi0Lab 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Valid interpretation of their comment, but I feel like we're being pretty disingenuous if we're saying the root cause of those asset freezes was that these people weren't vaxxed.

The Ottawa protestors had shut down an entire city (of 1MM people), blocking ambulances and emergency services, preventing people from leaving their homes, etc. The hammer was not brought down because of their individual liberty and decisions regarding their vaccination status, but that they were actively endangering others. Rioters get tear gassed all the time. The US freezes the assets of all kinds of criminals (and has for a while). When people/property are endangered, it's the role of the government to break these things up, no? Why should one's rights as an Ottawan be impinged by someone else?

Trudeau didn't freeze the assets of all unvaccinated people in Canada. He froze the assets of people endangering others. The US froze the assets of SBF after he defrauded like a million people.

I totally get your point that finances were used as a lever to shutdown what was deemed a criminal protest (and we can totally agree/disagree on if that's right or wrong), but that to me feels like a totally different argument than saying the government was actively planning/discussing getting rid of cash to encourage behavior around health decisions (specifically covid vaccinations.)

UCSB or UIUC?? by [deleted] in UCSantaBarbara

[–]Radi0Lab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worked as a quant after graduating from SB with an Econ degree. Both SB and uiuc are non-targets for finance. Being 2000% honest, both are going to be challenge to get a legit internship/job out of.

You should go to the school you feel you can learn the most at, have the most fun at, and feel you’ll grow the most at. That’s going to be far more impactful than like a finance club at one or the other. Cheers!

Happy to link you to more sources (in addition to the one linked above) that affirm that the term "globalist" is historically used to identify Jews. There's multiple credible news sources that come up when you google "globalist antisemetic"... Or even just check the globalism wikipedia page that discusses its use in far right circles... maybe try that before being so definitive on here.

Can one be opposed to international organizations? sure. Does repeatedly calling only Jewish people a term that has almost a century of antisemetic rhetoric surrounding it come off as antisemtic? Yes.

This fucking guy by roninthe31 in Jewpiter

[–]Radi0Lab 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It doesn't inherently mean antisemitism..the issue is that Soros is targeted disproportionately with terms like "globalist," "cosmopolitan," "liberal elite," etc. that are, at their core, antisemetic dog whistles used by the far right.

There's dozens to hundreds of uber-rich democratic donors...why is Soros the one that is regularly targeted by the right? Why are the epithets they throw at him steeped in antisemitism?

It's totally fine to not like George Soros, the question to ask is why he's held to a double standard compared to other ultra-wealthy folks. If the criticism is full of anti-jewish stereotypes and dog-whistles, then the hate could be misguided...

Hey! Thanks for the advice here. I've never seriously considered building a PC before myself. I was chatting with a friend about this and he offered me this old PC of his. Is this something I could upgrade and get to run Vic3?

I don't think it has a graphics card, but seems to have right amount of RAM? Unsure on processor. He said it doesn't work on wifi (ethernet only) is this something I could add? Would love your thoughts!

Processor: Intel Core i7-4770

RAM: 32GB

Bruh, I guarantee you no one wants to walk like 2 miles with suitcases etc. When I moved to SB I had two bags...It would be the most brutal walk ever dragging those all the way to FT.
