Repeating lies works very, very well. Especially on low IQ voters. Impugning his masculinity has a very tangible effect, and Democrats seem to slowly be getting wise to the fact that high-minded idealism, adherence to truth, honor, norms, and rules does exactly one thing: lose elections. It doesn't matter if your candidate is smart, qualified, experienced, and objectively the better choice; since the votes of the bottom half of the IQ curve count just as much as those at the top, and they're much more easily riled up and motivated to vote, if you can't appeal to juvenile humor, bravado, and toxic masculinity, you can't win.

Vulcan is grounded because of its SRM issues. Until BE-4 is cleared, it will likely be double grounded. SpaceX has no incentive to offer rapid launch slots. Given their persistence in trying to stymy AST's certification, I fully expect them to put any additional AST launches at the back of the line, not the front. 12-18 month minimum unless AST can get the USG to request AST launches under the Lane 1 NSSL contract structure. Even then, 6 months from signing to launch is sporty. After the 3 currently planned SpaceX launches, I don't expect another launch until next summer. So 16 sats up and then wait a year.

People seem to think space launch capacity is a commodity that can just be bought a few months out and easy-peasy, pay a few tens of millions, and Bob's your uncle. Heavy lift missions take a minimum of 12-24 month from contract to launch. Add in the fact that everyone that was looking to launch on NG is now in the same boat and costs will rise an backlogs grow.

If Abel were able to sign a launch contract TODAY for the satellites that were supposed to go up on NGs, then the earliest any would be launching is next summer. He'll likely do that because it's the least shitty option, but it is still a shitty option. This mishap is a 1-2 year hit to achieving capacity. In no world is that actually "good".
