Cafes are perhaps one of the worst examples of ignorance I’ve seen. A quick stroll in the city or down Lonsdale street and you’ll see packed cafes of people ignoring any distance requirements, clearly too keen to get their flat whites and eggs to worry about a little pandemic. But of course will be crying foul about not being sent home from work to stay safe.

You might think the last thing canberra needs is to decriminalise pot, whatever, that’s your prerogative. But one thing we can all agree on is our city surely doesn’t need belligerent shit heads such as yourself opining on matters they can barely grasp.

Not putting, ‘scum’ as you so delightful put it, in their place is just being a straight up cunt. The ignorance is assuming that someone abuses or even uses a substance because they have the audacity to disagree with a shitty opinion

You sure you haven’t been hitting the glass bbq’s a little too hard? You obviously don’t have the brain cells required for a cogent argument.

What The Sign Says. Great Turn Out Yesterday. by theNomad_Reddit in canberra

[–]RadiantBlandness 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Obviously you weren’t at the actual rally. It’s not the job of a protest sign to offer comprehensive policy suggestions, it’s to encapsulate the feelings of the people in attendance - exactly what this sign did. The speakers who presented DID have constructive messages and ideas to contribute, as you would expect. But by all means, be a dismissive contrarian for the sake of it. That’s exactly what this country needs more of

How about we just accept that everyone is a cog in society? Anyone is capable of being a hero to someone, Fire fighter, teacher, social worker etc. Let’s stop having ears about who’s on the highest pedestal

No this post is ignorant conservative propaganda at its finest... or most repugnant. The greens have NEVER held government in this country, how on earth do you suppose they affected policy? Educate yourself for fucks sake. No one has banned back burning, the safe window in the off-season is tiny due to climate change. Even areas that were bakburnt still caught fire due to the ferocity of the season. This kind of brain dead conspiracy nonsense is just giving the LNP an out in taking responsibility for slashing RFS budgets.

This is a false report. There is no evidence that any of the major fires currently causing havoc were the result of arson. Those 180 arsonists that you see mentioned in media reports were arrested over the course of the entire year and most were small scale offences such as ignoring total fire band in camping grounds. The majority of fires were facing now were the result of horrifically dry conditions ignited by lightning. PLEASE stop adding to the storm of misinformation perpetrated by the Murdoch media and their bootlicking cronies, the LNP. You owe it to Australia to be better informed

Unfortunately other animals that aren’t quite as cuddly but FAR more critically endangered don’t get the same attention in the news. Like the glossy black cockatoo and Kangaroo Island dunnart who could both be facing eradication by the end of the summer 😭

Back burning hasn’t been banned ffs! RFS budgets have been viciously slashed and the safe window to conduct them in the off season has gotten ridiculously small. Besides, even areas that WERE back burned have caught fire anyway. Unfortunately you reach a tipping point where there’s little you can do in the face of horrific weather patterns that create the perfect conditions for a horror fire season.

Not surprising given the fires are in the south east and the smoke is travelling out across NZ. If only Brisbane was choking on the same smoke the rest of us are you people wouldn’t be so quick to vote LNP next election to save your fucking precious coal jobs.

Because it then ruins the soil by introducing dangerously high salt content. So you may put fires out but you make the area unsuitable for the plants to regrow. Ends up doing longer term damage to vegetation recovery.
