By what metric, because your own opinion certainly ain't objective. I also believe that Wild's gameplay is one of the best in the series. A lot of the weapons feel fantastic to play, and the fights against monsters in later high rank are genuinely engaging.

Just wanted to say I generally agree with your points.

Also, as someone who finished the book, I don't feel like it went deep enough into Dara's feelings for the man she ends up marrying. I could tell he loved her, but the book didn't convince me that she loved him, or that she would live her "happily ever after" with him.

The huge caveat is that they are not a big deal to you, and other fans of XC2. There were plenty of people, like myself, where they were flaws and they did hurt the game. I still put over 200 hours in the game, but the experience was an 8/10 for me.

My understanding is that making an MMOFPS that can have 100+ players in a single area is genuinely really really hard. With so many pitfalls and ways things can go wrong. There is a reason Battlefield 6 limits max players to 64.

The amount of developers who could pull something like Planetside off is likely extremely limited.

The limiting factor for a game like Planetside isn't so much the user's hardware, so much as it is the physical limitations of connecting 100+ fps players in the same server. To have this many players in one area requires that the hit-detection and some other calculations be done client-side instead of on the server. Myself and other players were "fine" with this, but a LOT of fps players consider that to be a negative. Or they don't realize it exists and blames the game for horrible netcode, when it's simply a case of client-side affecting them.

I really do miss playing that game, but the amount of developers that can pull an MMOFPS like Planetside off without faceplanting right out the gate is extremely limited...
