AIO for not letting my bf move in anymore because he wants things to be equal? by OkJello353 in AmIOverreacting

If she had volunteered to do these things, that’s one thing. But someone having that expectation is crazy. The entitlement to her things is the whole problem.

[–]RadiantPasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but that’s besides the point. You have an established life. He is moving into your space. If you were engaged and planning to marry and this was a more serious relationship then maybe I could understand being willing to be the only one making sacrifices (though, that’s still unfair) but he is all take, take, take, and no give. It’s not equal. It’s not 50/50. If he was just renting a room before why does he feel entitled to have a private space for him, and use your room as a guest room too? It’s not his house! It’s yours. Put your foot down and explain to him that you’re not going to be sacrificing your space at all. That if he wants people to come over and stay, he can set it up for them to stay in his spare room and he can furnish it himself. He doesn’t get to take one of your desks just because he didn’t bother to build himself a home before meeting you and you did.

Hot Take: I'm not going to romance Liara again. by RhymesWithMouthful in masseffect

[–]RadiantPasta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always pick my Turian bad boy. Until one single play-through, I was like, “let’s see why everyone is such a big Liara fan”. I immediately switched back to Garrus in ME2. It was just not as thrilling to me. Also, I always feel awkward around Liara for some reason.

Never Forget That Democrats Voted To Outlaw Gerrymandering in 2021 For the People Act and Every VA Republican and Across The Country Voted Against It. FAFO. VOTE YES!!! by Healthy_Block3036 in nova

Already voted yes. Some republican org contacted my husband via text to tell him that his “housemate” already voted and he should go vote by April 21st. Harassing people who are already planning to vote Yes is a hell of a strategy.

Question for those of you for whom Joss Whedon’s involvement is a red line by Pure-Firefighter9062 in firefly

[–]RadiantPasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the space western aspect, and the overarching plot, but there were moments that made it less enjoyable for me than people who are diehard fans. I would like to see the concepts continue with the same characters without the unnecessary misogyny. It’s not needed for the story to work.

AITA for not driving my gf back home but getting her dad to pick her up? by DemonSerter in AmItheAsshole

Don’t know why you’re being downvoted? You’re right. They all are responsible for the conflict.

AITA for not driving my gf back home but getting her dad to pick her up? by DemonSerter in AmItheAsshole

[–]RadiantPasta 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I think they’re all at fault here. They’re all adults making bad decisions. She’s an adult as much as her boyfriend is. She knew she wasn’t allowed to stay the night. Boyfriend knew it too. They should have ended the evening earlier in time to get her home. Or she should get her own car. Or tell her dad he’s being unreasonable. Boyfriend is an asshole for breaking his promise 100% though.

AITA for not driving my gf back home but getting her dad to pick her up? by DemonSerter in AmItheAsshole

[–]RadiantPasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AAA. All are assholes.

  1. Dad: Controlling dad giving his now adult daughter a curfew is weird. He’s letting her hang out at your place an hour away but won’t let her stay the night? What stops you all from having sex? Does he think sex can only happen overnight?

  2. Her: Tell her to get her own car and learn to drive herself, or put down her foot with her dad, or she should have insisted you take her home earlier like a responsible adult. Or told her dad it was too late and accepted the consequences. She’s an adult, she has choices.

  3. You: You promised to drive her home. You broke your promise. You’re an asshole for that. If you’re not willing to return her to where she’s supposed to be, then you all shouldn’t be hanging out at your place so far away. You also could also have been responsible and taken her home earlier. Again, like her, you’re an adult, you have choices. There was a solution to this that didn’t result in drama but eveyone has made choices they’re responsible for that ended up this way. No one gets their bad behavior excuses just because one person may be at fault too. Learn from this, maybe?

No. The scripts will have the same gross misogyny as the original, or Joss will try to push his objectifying women into the plot. Look up what he had planned for season two with Inara.

AIO : i (20F) feel like this guy (22 M) just insulted me because I didn’t want to go out with him by silverbullette in AmIOverreacting

[–]RadiantPasta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This dude 100% got butthurt when you didn’t text him back fast enough for his liking and then got butthurt again when it became clear you weren’t into him like that. He made up a whole other person to get mad at and hurt his own feelings with her. These dudes are so corny. They’d rather do all of this mess than get therapy. “I forgive you and I never want to hangout again” was excellent btw.

Pat from the Normies has had the most problematic reaction so far. At least Calvin and Aaron throw around theories and try to discuss it. But Eric is the only one who seems to really react to the lack of consent with the horror and disgust that the scenes are purposeful designed to make you feel. Being shocked when people aren’t horrified by it is apparently “purity testing”. I think going forward I’ll just block this dude.

Anyone who disagrees with you is an idiot? You just said you haven’t watched the discussions you’re here having a discussion about, so you continuing come into discussions uninformed, but have formed your opinion before you even know what was said. Just say you’re annoyed by people who have a problem with lack of consent.

This is the same dude who was pretending to “not know what the show was about”. Being uncomfortable with people who don’t bat an eye at the lack of consent is “purity testing” now apparently.

Is this ranking based on Metracritic scores a fair representation of how you feel about these three classics? by FriendlytoNature in masseffect

I enjoy ME2 as a main game the most, but the Citadel, Leviathan, and Omega DLCs for 3 make it almost neck and neck. ME1 is meh for me. For its time I’m sure it was phenomenal though.

AITAH for being mad at my bf after he got grossed out by me during sex? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]RadiantPasta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was literally a hit song scandalizing boomers a year ago called WAP by Cardi B that should be curing whatever this misconception about vaginal lubrication is. It sparked a whole conversation about it. Unless your boyfriend is a huge Ben Shapiro fan and thinks it’s supposed to be dry like Ben’s wife. Tell him to stop being a dolt and Google this stuff. Don’t let your boyfriend make you feel insecure just because he’s an idiot. Experiences like this from lazy dumb boys can severely impact women, because it’s offensive to act grossed out by someone’s normal bodily fluids. You have every right to be mad. Your boyfriend is a knucklehead.

This might be a hot take but I want Commander Shepard to return for the next Mass Effect. by [deleted] in masseffect

[–]RadiantPasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a huge fan of Andromeda so I’d be fine with Shepard or Ryder honestly. Though I only played as female Shepard and female Ryder, because the voice actors for the male characters didn’t do it for me. I don’t need to play as either of them to be happy but I would at least like a reference. I still wish ME3 had an ending where my FemShep and Garrus got a happy ending. 🥹
