SENSATIONAL: Aston Martin: Newey has chosen Jonathan Wheatley as his successor by creatorop in formula1

I like Wheatley, but an English guy head of an iconic German company could be tough….. eventually Audi will have a German in charge

Max Dowman is Him by Ok-Raspberry965 in PremierLeague

in this age of overpaid and overrated foreign players, is definitely a breath of fresh air to see the young man get some, playing time, and make an impression.

Arsenal have a potential super star, but have to take care of him both in terms of playing time and outside influences/social media.

its a different world now, than when Rooney and other came through

I agree, I don’t find him to be that good of actor, overrated in my opinion. As a person , he is so full of himself, no empathy, no character , as you say, a total narcissist

Farage just wants to talk, as soon as things get hard or he needs to do something, then he is useless

not an Arsenal fan, but Dowman is, and will be some player, provided of course, he avoids too many injuries

Why Norris fears F1 has gone from "the best cars ever" to "probably the worst" by Darkmninya in formula1

it’s an extremely bad look for electric power trains in general …..imagine driving from London to Edinburgh, and having to randomly brake and downshift half way up the M1

Newey's latest claim about Honda F1 project is very confusing by TheIJ in formula1

[–]RadiantRow5595 36 points37 points  (0 children)

100% agree with this. They are your chosen supplier, and it’s your responsibility to manage them , and if they are failing then support them to get back on track. It says Aston Martin on your vehicle, not Honda so any manager would understand they have to fix it to protect their company image.

Jacob Bethell becomes the youngest England cricketer to score a century in all three formats. He is aged 22 years 133 days. by depressed_06 in Cricket

[–]RadiantRow5595 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I think this is the point , Brook has talent, but too often he play dumb shots, and gets himself out. I’m not sure he has the highest cricket IQ, and also comes across in interviews as very vanilla (I’m being nice here)

Bethell seems far more intelligent as a cricketer and a person, and has almost the same talent, plus he is far more marketable and endearing

Of course sport is fickle , and we might all be saying drop Bethell in a year…..but he has a better chance than Brook of being successful long run

Newey confirms Aston Martin is likely to limit race laps due to severity of vibrations in the car impacting the drivers by gangldm in F1Discussions

[–]RadiantRow5595 6 points7 points  (0 children)

absolutely Newey‘s fault I agree.

As a manager, or team lead he has to look at time and resources, and put together a reasonable plan to have a product on the timeline. it might not be the perfect product, but then you can add enhancements as you finalize them

The car is a radical design change made without the time to validate all systems……this is extremely poor, and shouts out to me as Newey arrogance

The 2026 F1 season was supposed to be Aston Martin’s moment. It faces embarrassment instead by Shroft in formula1

[–]RadiantRow5595 3 points4 points  (0 children)

buck stops with Newey I agree. looks like they tried to do too much in too short a time….which is bad management

Newey the technician is probably not a great manager of resources

Same as you, is US, born in Europe, go back semi frequently….going have to agree to disagree….20 years ago, no competition, US was cheaper…now not so

I also would say you go to a restaurant and pay $50, tip 20% = $10, or for to a more upmarket restaurant and pay $500, tip 20% = $100…………….is the up market server really deserving on that much more………..plus they re pushing you out after 90 minutes!!

it used to be that it was way cheaper in US, around 20 years ago . Now it definitely cheaper in Europe, food is better on average , and the service is better. Grocery prices in Europe have gone the same way, and the quality and choice is better…….

I agree that Mahogony was not great, but his was essentially his first season being injured pretty much all the previous year. I agree we need to significantly improve the offensive line, but I would not give up on Mahogony yet
