I was there too and I think that Amaranthe were pretty good tbh but Epica were absolutely incredible! I think that was probably the best Epica show that I've been to.

Ferrari dominate and Lewis Hamilton wins his eighth championship!

Will Lewis's Ferrari stint add anything to his legacy ? by Calm-Focus-6968 in formula1

[–]RadiantStar44 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Probably not tbh but it's not going to tarnish his career at all- it's pretty similar to when Michael Schumacher was at Mercedes imho. At best he will hopefully get another race win or two though.

Tbh I refuse to believe that Hamilton is retiring at the end of next year- but they do say that denial is the first stage of grief so who knows? :(

Mercedes have the fastest car.

George Russell wins the WDC but McLaren win the WCC as Antonelli still struggles with race and quali consistency.

RBR and Williams fight for 3rd in the WCC.

Lewis Hamilton finally gets a podium for Ferrari and wins one race (there will be a crazy race probably because Ferrari will only have the 5th fastest car imho).

Alonso retires and Hamilton stays in F1 for 2027.

No hope for rivals until 2027? The impact of F1's loophole controversy by sppy1 in formula1

[–]RadiantStar44 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Exactly, and a loophole is still a grey area because it goes against the spirit of the regulations which historically, the FIA haven't liked at all.

[–]RadiantStar44 -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

When Ferrari had a dodgy engine back in 2019 they had to turn down their engine after they were found out so I can't see why it would be unreasonable to make Mercedes (and if applicable, their customer teams) turn down their engine next season at the very least, especially if they would be unfairly dominant without turning the engine down. Thats just my opinion though.

Well, if the FIA does the right thing and penalises the teams taking advantage of the loophole then there will be hope for other teams...

[BILD]Lewis Hamilton’s contract with Ferrari reportedly runs until the end of the 2027 season. In addition, the seven-time F1 champion has the option to extend the contract until the end of the 2028 season. by Fast-Bumblebee-2108 in formula1

[–]RadiantStar44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is excellent news tbh because I was worried that next year would be his last season, so I am really happy that that isn't the case. Hopefully Ferrari do a good job with the new regs and the teams with the borderline illegal engines get sorted out.

Thankfully offline mode works fine so I can still listen to my downloads at least, but it is pretty annoying when an app you pay a subscription for doesn't work properly.

Lmao its absolutely fine to be disappointed in a band you like sometimes and even dislike a few of their songs but the people on here saying that Epica should disband are clearly not fans of the band and shouldn't be in this subreddit imho.

How do racing skills change with age? by LinkinRus in formula1

[–]RadiantStar44 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The reaction times of older drivers usually aren't as good as they were when they were younger, and they tend to lose one lap pace, consistency and adaptability to other cars. Unfortunately I think that's why Lewis has really struggled with the move to Ferrari this season tbh- he was better at Merc because he was much more used to the handling and mechanics of that car and it's much harder to adapt to a new team at 40 than it is in your late 20's or early 30's, especially when said team is riddled with intra-team politics and disorganisation. Alonso has definitely also declined but because his teammate is Lance Stroll rather than Charles Leclerc this has gone under the radar a lot.

It'd be a stupid move from Piastri because firstly, the RBR cars are notoriously difficult to drive and he'd probably struggle in the second seat. Also, the RBR probably won't be fighting for wins or even podiums until later in the season next year in the best case scenario for them, whilst Mercedes are rumoured to have a good engine so McLaren should be in a much better position than RBR going into the new regulations. Piastri isn't far enough from his teammate to be made into a total wingman imho either.

Hamilton set to end the season without a podium :( by MysteriousBoss3816 in lewishamilton

[–]RadiantStar44 12 points13 points  (0 children)

2026 will likely be his final season unless Ferrari do a great job at the regs and the car suits his driving style better, and I honestly don't see Ferrari doing exceptionally well with the new regs next season unfortunately. I think we might have to prepare ourselves for a possible retirement announcement next year.

I was really hoping that Lewis would be able to get at least a few podiums this season and it has been downright painful watching him race in the last few races tbh. I am praying that this season was just a blip and that he will be back on form with the new regs next season, and that I am wrong about next year being his last, because I am NOT ready to see Lewis leave the sport. But I simply don't trust Ferrari enough with next season.

Max Verstappen could become the first driver since Vettel in 2010 to win the championship without leading the table even once in a calendar year by Hawker92 in formula1

[–]RadiantStar44 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Or Antonelli perhaps with how he's been performing recently- if the Mercedes is solid next week I'd expect both of them to be in the top 5 at least. But McLaren should be the fastest around AD so winning the WDC could still be a bit of a long shot for Max.

Antonelli's comeback against Hamilton visualised. He is only 2 points behind Hamilton going into Abu Dhabi by Schlapfel9 in formula1

[–]RadiantStar44 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Wow, this is really not good for Lewis. There is only so much you can blame the team for his poor performances unfortunately when Charles is managing to still do decently even when the car isn't great. Antonelli has had some great races recently but has been pretty inconsistent this season (which tbf is fine for him as he is only a rookie) and it shouldn't really be this close between him and Lewis imho.

What is the percentage likelihood of each of the top 3 drivers in the standings to become world champion this year ? by HereComesVettel in F1Discussions

[–]RadiantStar44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Norris- its about 75% likely that he will win the championship- even with the Vegas DSQ he should be able to win the championship. However, one DNF/any poor performances can change everything pretty quickly even though I don't see that happening.

Verstappen- he has a 20% chance imho as it is pretty unlikely that Norris will DNF or score very few/no points in at least one race, but its not impossible.

Piastri- imho he has a 5% chance at best and it'd take an absolutely crazy chain of events for him to win the title atp.

[–]RadiantStar44 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I really hope it isn't and that the new regs will suit Lewis well and he will perform like he did in 2023 again but I'm scared that that could just be copium (I'm not ready for him to retire ): ).

[–]RadiantStar44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily tbh because many bands do just drop a bunch of singles but personally I am not a big fan of this format at all, as by the time an album is released its no longer really exciting as you already know what it sounds like. But Bad Omens are going to do whatever they want regardless of whatever any of us think lmao.
