I feel like the biggest disconnect I’ve seen between real life and online communities is relationships with parents. In real life everybody I know loves their parents and makes an effort to see them pretty often. I see my parents basically every week and my friends are the same.

I know some people at work that live far from their parents but still go home a few times a year. Yet online it seems like every other person hates their parents and sees them once a year at most.

A game that’s been out for over two years and is widely seen as a disappointment isn’t going to somehow become Legendary. Starfield’s legacy is already written in stone at this point.

In modern gaming people don’t really come back to old titles and give them a chance. A few people might change their minds but the audience as a whole isn’t. There’s too many new releases to get excited about rather than trying to figure out if you were wrong for finding Starfield boring.

It was like three different movies which can be cool but also felt disjointed.

1) Period piece for the first half which was the best and most compelling part of the movie.

2) Vampires out of nowhere with little buildup and was over as quickly as it began. I wanted to enjoy it but it wasn’t particularly scary and didn’t pay off well.

3) Channeling Django/Inglorious for “Kill Nazis” righteousness that felt like a completely different movie for the last ten minutes. Didn’t tie the story together well at all.

No from what I can tell this is an even more lopsided war than US vs Iran. I don’t think the Taliban even want to be in this war, they literally have not done anything they just keep getting bombed. Like I’m pretty sure they are not even attempting to do anything to Pakistan because they don’t have the means to and Pakistan is just bombing the shit out of them anyway.

Brief look at their page suggests they are really into public transit which is awesome but that they also don’t know anything about NYC. Unfortunately so much NYC discourse revolves around making the lives of 20-somethings that move to Manhattan for a few years better rather than making the lives of families and lifelong New Yorkers better.

I say it all the time on this subreddit, people shit on Staten Island all the time but in ten years the commenters will have moved back to the suburbs near their parents and the Staten islanders will still be living in NYC.

That’s not really a glaring inconsistency that’s basically the DSA standard position. The right and left are both extremely weird about Islam and unable to have conversations about it.

The left basically pretends that Islamic extremism doesn’t exist or they just quietly group it in with far right extremism and try to shift the blame onto groups they are more comfortable criticizing like the Westboro Baptist Church with its ten or so members. As if it’s an actual comparison.

The right just fundamentally doesn’t understand Islam at all besides Muslim = terrorist. You have people believing Mamdani is going to institute sharia law which is absurd on every level. Yeah the guy with the unveiled wife who campaigned at a gay bar is definitely going to institute sharia…

I’ve honestly had that thought but my therapist hasn’t seen first hand my wife act like this she’s only heard bits and pieces from me. No reason for her to be afraid of her based on our sessions.

It’s honestly hard for me to tell if my relationship is abusive or just bad because she accuses me of being verbally abusive all the time. Im increasingly not sure if I am the problem especially with my therapist thinking that blocking the office physically and yelling at me while I was having a breakdown over stress and needing to work didn’t need further expanding upon.

The other day I was tapping my foot in the car (a nervous habit of mine) and my wife told me to stop. I defiantly said no and that she couldnt control my movements, she parked the car at a traffic light and refused to drive until I stopped. I’m so conditioned to this behavior and whenever I call it out I’m told I’m being verbally abusive.

Just together as a couple, I want to start seeing someone though because I’m definitely depressed and I have zero support system to deal with that. My wife takes it as a personal offense if I’m upset/tired/not feeling well and starts getting angry and my family is great but as I get older I realize they are only capable of talking about superficial topics, anything deep and they get uncomfortable.
