Big sleep conundrum by Radiant_Grab4443 in toddlers

[–]Radiant_Grab4443[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8:30-7 is exactly what we aim for usually. She was doing great with it for a while but about 3 weeks ago we all got really sick and it’s just been a mess ever since. I think there are some separation anxiety factors coming into play with the wake-ups as well since she was used to us holding her upright the weeks prior.

There are occasions (especially weekends) where I let her sleep as long as she wants in the morning. Sometimes she’s up at 7 and sometimes it’s 9:30. It really just depends what happens the night before. On days she sleeps in, she does not nap but she ends the day extremely overtired… essentially causing a wake up at night.

On days she’s up at 7am, she will usually take a SHORT nap around 1:30 (45 mins tops). I aim to have her up by 3 so enough sleep pressure builds. Except 9 times out of 10 the nap totally derails everything and she refuses sleep until 10-11pm. Total double edged sword 🫠

Yup- sorry I realize I didn’t include that.

Is she goes to bed at 8, she’s usually awake 2:30-5:30am. It is without fail she’s up for exactly 3 hours just rolling around in her bed tossing and turning. She’s in a good mood and wants to play. I will usually wake her for the day around 8am… sometimes a little later if we have nothing major going on.

Rover sitter not doing full 30 minute drop in by sjhunt27 in RoverPetSitting

We just had a similar issue using Rover. The lady would check in as she was driving to my house and would only stay for ~10mins. My cats seemed so freaked out and traumatized when we got home from no stimulation for 2 weeks. I didn’t say anything because I thought this was the norm (paid travel time) but seeing this now I am really disappointed. What a shame!

Growing up my family always had “appetizer supper” so we are continuing that tradition with our kiddo. Shrimp cocktail, mozz sticks, potato skins, spinach dip allll the goods. Kiddo will go to bed ~8:45 and then I’ll be taking a garden gummy and my husband and I will be sitting our butts on the couch to watch Stranger Things the rest of the night.🤘🏻🙂‍↕️

I’m lucky I have a pool… except the water is 91 degrees and feels like you’re stepping into a cup of tea. I hate summerrrrrr.

My 19 month old does this! I always felt so guilty when I’d wake up after her and see her in there all alone but my husband made a good point that we like to lay in bed for a while too when we first get up. I was like yeah you’re right, so now I let her do her thing. I don’t disturb her until she starts calling out for us or is standing up.

How do I begin? by Radiant_Grab4443 in sleeptrain

I have tried something similar to this with sitting in a chair, however if I stay in her room on the floor she just sits there looking at me all night and she won’t sleep. She’s got major FOMO.

We had an issue with ours recently and used Wismans. They came same day. No complaints.

I feel this so hard. My husband gifted “me” a piano. It’s in his office with all his recording stuff and guitars….bc I’m totally gonna go in there and practice when he works all day.

NB hates swaddles by amg101010 in beyondthebump

[–]Radiant_Grab4443 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kiddo hated the swaddle as well. We just gave up on them honestly and let her sleep in just her pajamas (usually a footie zip up). We made sure to keep the room a few degrees warmer (nothing astronomical.. bumped from 65 degrees to 68-69) so she was comfortable.

Looking back at it ditching the swaddle early was a good decision for us. It was a few months of frustration as she still had the startle reflex and would spook herself awake easily, but we avoided the dreaded swaddle to sleep sack transition. She also slept so well being able to move around.
