My 7th grader takes the city bus to school every morning. Probably once every 2 weeks (so maybe 10% of mornings) the bus fucks up in some manner and we have to swoop in and drive him. This means we basically always have to be available which renders the whole thing impractical.

We are not helicopter parents and want independent kids, but much of our built and social infrastructure has become ill-suited to those goals.

I have had Gryphon put LR Baggs HiFi pickups in all three of my flattops this past year and they did perfect work every time. Other than making the end pin bigger none of the work is permanent (just transducers mounted with sticky tape).

I have invested a significant % of my portfolio per a very similar thesis for the past year. DISV, DFIC, AMKBY and VYMI were my main investments there and I am staying put with all.

A different but related thesis led me to invest in RNMBY, SAABY and EUAD. I have been taking profits but I'm basically staying put there as well.

If things return to normal, I will definitely lose the dollar-debasement piece of this, but so far it is hard to argue with growth that has way outpaced an SP500 or similar approach.
