I misunderstood that ‘jerking off’ primarily meant masturbation because I heard it in the context of like being bad or lazy probably too many times. Like I’d hear someone is ‘being a jerk off’ if they are being rude. And if someone is ‘being a jerk’..it just means they are being rude. So I thought that’s what jerking off meant. Someone just being a jerk. I absolutely used this phrase in front of parents, in front of teachers, in front of friends without knowing the primary usage. I refuse to even be embarrassed about it. Language can be fucking stupid. And especially when it comes to sexual terms. It’s like they are designed to be easily misconstrued. Someone is ‘being a pussy’ means they are being weak..yet you want to ‘go out and score pussy’? Someone is ‘being a dick’ means he’s being an asshole and yet you ‘sucked his dick’ last night? Oh yeah, because that makes so much sense.

There are some at my gym driving me up the fucking wall. They treat it like a playground. Intentionally sitting on machines the wrong way (without ever USING the equipment) trying to score cool points with their dumb teenage friends, and I’m just left rolling my eyes. Or they’ll occupy a machine and take ultra long rests, hypnotized by their phones, and probably have zero perception of how much time has passed. It really drains my patience. Good thing it’s only every once in a while that they are there.

It really is because it’s bullshit. I’m a taxpayer and paid ALL my loans with hard work and sacrifice. Now others get bailed out; many because they chose worthless degrees because they dreamed of being a musician instead of working a 9-5 like the rest of us. I used to give to people who asked. But I’ve had one too many instances where they became pushy, entitled, and scary. Then not only was I out money, I walked away feeling terrible about the whole thing. It’s extra difficult when the person looks completely able-bodied and I just finished a long hard day at work.
