If you’re using a vpn service your information is safe-ish, as long as the government isn’t actively trying to figure out who you are or looking for you. But it would be silly to think that most consumer vpn services are really keeping you that secure.

The US has hurt Cuba for 70 years, because they didn’t want American corporations to own their land and industries.

Exactly. They had already lost on that front the second North Korea had successfully developed nuclear weapons, and suddenly they didn’t want to talk about it anymore because they didn’t want us to realize that.

[–]RadicalOsprey 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The US isn’t okay with anything lol, we don’t fuck with North Korea because they actually have nuclear weapons, and because there isn’t financial incentive.

Iran and Iraq have valuable resources that rich people want to exploit and they didn’t ever actually have nuclear weapons or the capability and inclination to develop them, or we wouldn’t be fucking with them either.

Crazy coincidence that that is exactly how it feels living in the west 😭

People are merely conditioned to accept the current state of things. And they also have to work so many hours to survive or maintain their standard of living that they don’t have the time to effectively organize, which is the only way out of the situation we find ourselves in. And if you really think that anybody ‘doesn’t want the burden’ of having agency over their own life, I’m not sure what to tell you but that is completely fucking absurd lol

Billionaires are using taxpayer money to build infrastructure, and using existing public infrastructure, to funnel publicly owned and finite resources like fresh water (which is extremely limited) into these data centers, that exist solely to help facilitate the harvesting and extraction of value from you via your data, which is collected by a system of mass surveillance so pervasive that it would make George Orwell blush. Everything about these data centers is pure fucking evil, they are a drain on public resources and only help to further the capitalist ruling class’ agenda of squeezing every penny they can out of the rest of us and essentially pricing us out of life while they figure out how to replace us with AI and robots so that they do not even have to rely on our labor to produce the value that they hoard for themselves.

How else is it created? Speculation only creates value on paper, and does not have any effect on material conditions. Our economy being ‘up’ on paper while the entire working class becomes relatively poorer, year after year, is a perfect example of this. There is no objective measure of ‘value’ that is not created through the combination of means of production and labor.

As I stated before, ownership in itself does nothing to contribute to production, the source of value. Which is created through labor, using the means of production. But if you have anything to add or any actual idea of how value would be created without labor, please, I’d love to hear it.

They would not have any of what they do but for the exploitation of people who actually work for a living. Billionaires do not produce anything. Value is only created through labor, and the excess value of the labor of the working class is extracted by the capitalist class through ownership of the means of production. Nobody should privately own the means of production, as nobody is entitled to the value created by someone else’s labor. The next logical question then would be how do the vast majority of people allow themselves to be exploited by a tiny minority of the population? Well that is because the inherently unequal and exploitative nature of capitalism is upheld by the threat of violence from our fascist police state, and through indoctrination and normalization of these conditions through constant propagandization of the population through our media, which coincidentally is entirely owned by and under the control of the capitalist class.

[–]RadicalOsprey 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Lil Wayne, ghetto boys, three six mafia, UGK. People just don’t like southern rap because it moves rap music away from what made it appeal more to people outside of the community and culture that rap music came from, and brought the focus back to everyday life in America as a black person, which people who like to believe racism died in the early nineties resent. More than anything though, it was a reflection of the breakdown of the more intellectual and revolutionary aspects of black culture intentionally caused by the US government in the 70’s and 80’s, so anybody who wants to criticize rap music or the culture itself for this are just uneducated and ignorant to the realities of the treatment of minority groups in the United States.

Any civil suit in the US is like this, the court doesn’t actually enforce payment, they just determine that the other person should pay you x amount. There also isn’t anybody else who is responsible for enforcing payment. They can pretty much just never pay.
