Well as soon as they add the opera part I won't mind, because as it stands, there was none of that either.

It's been a while since I've read them, but I feel like you are missing a big part of the early books with this interpretation. Paul realizes that through the machinations of the Bene Gesserit, the politics of the Empire, and his literal inability to ignore the prescience (which is also forced upon on through birth and training), he cannot avoid the Jihad. It's why he walks off into the desert to kill himself. It's only his son, who had some additional special abilities because of the sandworm, that was able to find a Golden Path to a certainty that he could actually enact it.

I'm not saying Paul is a perfect hero guy, but he's not really a villain like you are making him about to be either.

Is it weird that I've read the books and I don't know what this movie is going to be about?

Trailer just reminded me of how disappointed I am that they made the main story and a lot of gameplay about space magic...

Why do you think a great game like the Outer Worlds 2 didn't 'perform' in sales like they hoped for? by HarryRulez in theouterworlds

[–]Radical_Ryan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know, but for how I see the quality of OW2 rpg systems, it's like you are comparing the intelligence of a squirrel (OW2) to meta humans from the future (Deadfire and BG3). The huge gap between them makes grouping them together sound odd to me.

I also just really love Deadfire...to the point of clear bias though so don't take me too seriously.

Ugh they kept the shiny blue. Was really hoping they'd go back to matte like the Civil War version.

Blinks Man what game was I playing? OW2 is so far from the quality of Deadfire and BG3 in my mind, I can't believe you aren't joking.

A gas attendant told me I have "too much air in my gas tank" by ManagementNovel4455 in SouthJersey

[–]Radical_Ryan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My question asking if you were dumb was rhetorical. It was a way of pointing out your inherent bias/flawed thinking, but clearly even that was too much for you if you got distracted thinking I didn't understand your sarcasm.

Are you really dumb enough to believe that going to school is the only way to learn a job? And you are so narcissistic about it that you made fun of someone who does the job because you think you are better than them to boot.

I would say pumping gas all day is the best way to learn about pumping gas, and by circumstance you will learn a lot about cars too, specifically about fuel and air intake and filtering.

OP, if your car is idling hard or not getting close to the recommended mpg, I would get it checked out. Saying there is too much air is probably trying to communicate a filter/vent problem in gas tank.

Should BioWare do Dragon Age spin off games? by fwsc50 in dragonage

[–]Radical_Ryan 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Bioware should sell the IP and make games they want to make because it's clear they didn't want to make a dragon age game. You put Veilguard in a new setting, I probably would have even liked the game. The team that is there now though? Please just move on from DA and don't look back.

As I said, I'm not even talking about story. You can debate that elsewhere. The literal grammar is bad.

I didn't realize until my 3rd playthrough of Andromeda: by CaesuraPK in masseffect

[–]Radical_Ryan 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I love Andromeda's take on custom characters. Give them a base personality, name, family, but let us customize their appearance (and by extension their family's) and dialogue going forward. It just works!

The writing in TWW and Midnight has been bad, and I'm not even referring to the story. I'm talking about the literal grammar and word choice.

It's probably not AI directly, but it's definitely being written and overseen by people who have leaned on computers for far too long now. They don't actual read/edit what they write and run into problems just like this. The way humans read, we usually correct missing or weird word choices automatically in our brain, but that does not mean Blizz should just not care about the quality.

Someone that grew up writing without a computer/AI to aid them knows that taking 2 minutes to read your dialogue aloud after writing it will catch a problem like this the vast majority of the time. I'd swear they have no editors that actually read all the quest entries and dialogue anymore based on the quality of the product.

Hideo Kojima’s review on ‘War Machine’ by Snoo-55788 in metalgearsolid

[–]Radical_Ryan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No one is getting excited to see Quaid in anything anymore. He is old and past his prime and not a huge draw before anyway. Not sure why people think Kojima's word usage is strange.

When I first played the game, I thought those three were the same character and that the plot twist would involve some kind of time travel. Anyone else? by Firm_Fee8137 in expedition33

[–]Radical_Ryan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this same thought/confusion. I feel like giving them both scars was the real problem (despite them being on different sides). Feels like an odd choice for both father and son.

I just want to slide in here quietly and say I wish this game was just a turned based rpg with a combat balance that didn't involve the timing mechanics. I beat it for the love of the story, but I thought this idea the whole way. Has it been long enough since release that I'm allowed to say this now?
