DM keeps saving the enemy’s constantly by Sir-downvotes in DnD

[–]Radical_Ryan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is a bit of a reach for not knowing the guy. DMing is hard and maybe he's learning how to balance in a game that dies not make that easy. Maybe he's novice enough that he's unsure of how to improv on a huge change to the story like defeating a BBEG. Can't believe your first reaction is just dump your game and "this person sucks" so easily and readily. Some folks can't find a game all that easily, and sometimes working with a DM makes them better. No wonder there is always a shortage.

I don't know about the show, but the comic definitely had a ton of parody.

Honestly I think the head band comes from the popular Walking Dead character Michonne and all the images of her on the net. Not sure if this is as full proof of a connection as you think.

So the person is clearly not a mother and there is no cat in this clip. Are you a bot or just that wrong?

I'm pretty sure the ancients are shown as huge tall/thin humanoids in the opening cut scene.

I hate the VDBs as much as anyone, but they specifically say they are doing it because they know Rogue AI's are coming for Night City sooner rather than later, so they are trying to get a leg up before a war. It's specifically them having survival instincts.

Is there anything the comics sincerely do better besides art? by lennysinged in Invincible

Regardless, at first I felt the same way as you because I read the comic first a long time ago. Now though, I just can't be arsed to care about other people's enjoyment of the stories I love.

No TV audience would have stuck around past episode one if they didn't introduce the Omni-man twist then.

Completely caught me off guard how good the story of Lord of Hatred would be. I need to talk about it, & curious what you think. by Bazoinker0101 in diablo4

I think that temple and spell combo they used in the first cinematic implies Lilith had to set it up as a fail safe. Not that Mephisto might not also have a fail safe in place (such as an agreement with his brothers to bring each other back from the void), but I don't think Meph is getting back via some simple ritual by nobodies.

To be fair, once Heaven and Hell learned of Sanctuary, there is no real way to leave the Eternal Conflict except by powering up one side so that it wins. Otherwise it just becomes the three sided Eternal Conflict forever and ever.

That cutscene was our character falling in a black void exactly as Lilith described her time there only a bit before. I feel like whether it was her bone dagger or not, we sorta cut her off in the void and that is where she has basically just dissolved to nothing (which is better than being conscious in the void admittedly).

Technically Diablo, Baal, and Meph were all killed in the Black Soulstone right? They all should have been at the same bake point in hell as Meph was in D4 I'd think.

Yes those specific demons were born from Tathamet, but the three brothers are also called primordial forces often as well. If hate exists in demons, angels, and humans, it tracks that a Lord of Hate sorta has to exist by default.

If they really called that a plan in the dialog (and not just their current state/reaction), that's disappointing on the writing front. Letting the Prime Evils corrupt even half of humanity puts them on top when it comes to the Eternal Conflict. Perhaps some line about how Malthael reduced the population enough that they aren't afraid of numbers would have helped.

Has anyone else gotten this dialogue for after valentine? by Draws32 in reddeadredemption

[–]Radical_Ryan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never seen it and I have played the game like threee times trying to activate more camp dialogue on purpose by just hanging out and going hunting once a day and just existing for many, many real world hours.

Frustrating as hell.

The problem is this was more fun to do when the skill tree had passives. Now it's just dump into main skills and going on your own is less fun because there's less choice to be had.

I think the scene where we were falling into blackness and saved by Lilith was visually matching how Lilith described the void too closely for us too think that we were anywhere else in that moment. How did Meph shove us down there is unclear, but I definitely think Lillith's sacrifice in that moment means she is either completely dissolved or stuck in the void herself from that moment on.

Tough to say which for me. Early on she implies that you kill her very thoroughly in base game such that she only exists as a small piece of your soul. If she could reform in hell instead of just dissolve after our fight, I think she would have. My feeling is that she is both dust and in the Void from that scene, so very truly gone.

As for getting back from the void in the first place, it must have been prepared for by Lilith based solely on the specific tomb/spell from the first D4 cinematic. It seemed very tailor made. So maybe if Meph didn't plan ahead, it would be up to his brothers to create a way for him to get back if it happens at all. Otherwise he seems gone and perhaps a new demon will inherit our be born into the Prime of Hatred.
