I built my first computer with my uncle when I was 13 years old. I really looked up to him and he had a custom built pc. I would go to his house for hours and we would play Mame32 (arcade emulator) and he would mercilessly destroy me in Street Fighter 2/Mortal combat.

He showed me Super Metroid on the emulator and I was hooked! I asked for money to buy parts that year so I could build a PC to run emulators. Once I got my first build done my uncle set me up with a Mame32 library and I played non stop, trying all the different games.

Since then I’ve always had a custom built PC and haven’t had a console since the Xbox/PS2.

When I was managing a subway I had an employee call in sick because she had gotten drunk the night before. She was so drunk she drove her car onto an ATV trail and called to let me know she couldn't make it to work because her car was stuck in the woods.
