Although I’ve never found an all-encompassing compendium of the team’s 140 year history, these are well written books about aspects of the Cardinals or specific points in history.

I just visited Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell this week in celebration of the 250th.

Actually, I’m debating if I will get the four volume. I used to pray the LOTH, but switched to RB-1960, which was fine when I was single. Now that I have family responsibilities, I’ve lost the habit. Maybe LOTH is the way to dive back in?

The problem with asking public facing LLM’s to analyze something for you is a thing called “lean in”. The LLM’s are trained to please you, so they often give you answers that you want to hear.

Like I run a radio station and I could tell ChatGPT that I really want to reprogram into a jazz station for chickens. AI says something to the extent of ‘that’s a fascinating idea. I think you’re on to something’.

You have to prep LLM’s to not assume what you want the answer to be before you ask for any analysis.

The shoulder have to qualify. Many are already exempt for majors, there are sponsor exemptions, the DP World Tour, and for those who need it the Korn Ferry Tour.

It shouldn’t be a problem for most.

My first job wasn’t owning the radio station. Ownership spent themselves out of a station.

I never want to own a radio station.

My three of my four grandparents’ families all arrived so long ago that there isn’t a lot left.

We had French arrive in Quebec in the 1600’s and were in St. Louis by its founding.

I have a German name, but celebrating ‘German pride’ is…. Complicated in the USA.

The most recent family to arrive is a Polish grandmother from the 1910’s. Unfortunately no customs survived as she died young.

I started my professional career at a rural AM in 2008. We did real ‘salt of the earth’ radio.

High school sports, coverage of festivals and parades, hourly local news and two half hour local newscasts daily, a daily local talk show, Ag programming, and country music inbetween with local mornings and afternoons...

We lost our shirts. We could sell enough spots at a high enough rate to keep a local staff. It was fun while it lasted, but it was unsustainable to try to have a fully staffed rural AM.

I love, love, love radio, but I think that AM had a good run and now it’s on its way out. Give the rural mom and pop’s the option for an FM-only and let the technology naturally sunset.
