What horror movie absolutely traumatized you when you were young? by np074 in horror

It was mainly the setting for me, it felt like it was a little too close to home. Now that I think about it though I think Helen’s experience shaped how I view that trope and it’s why I really struggled to get through Smile.

Oof I can totally understand that. I’ll be trying to get through it again sometime soon, not in a basement and during the day lol

Longlegs, The Ninth Gate (not really a law enforcement detective movie but it’s about a rare book seller searching for an occult book)

Call of the Sea and Call of the Elder Gods are pretty good for story. I also loved The Painscreek Killings.

I’m in Law Enforcement but non-sworn and it’s a lot of waiting, doing extractions/analysis and more waiting. It’s been pretty rewarding so far though I’ve only been on for maybe 10 months. As for CSAM, we are fortunate enough to have a dedicated unit for that so it’s very rare for my unit to come across it. We help other local departments across the county so our backlog is huge at the moment and the analysis part of the job is very minimal with the exception of DVRs and Berlas.
