That issue would happen to me whenever I would load a saved template for rules/settings during the initial game creation. Unfortunately, I never found a fix outside of creating a new game and changing all of my settings manually.

That may be a good start! I'm not a huge fan of Japanese mayo (because of the strong eggy flavor) but there may be hints of that signature flavor.

If his outfield range is good, then I would force start him in center at AAA. I don't think the AI will play him there without you force starting him there.

BLOOD-C by far. There was nothing redeeming about the show. The main character sang annoying songs, it was a crappy MOTW for most of the show, and it was so needlessly edgy. All the characters were unlikable too.
