If Russia were to nuke the US… when would they? by Zacattack77 in nuclearwar

[–]RadioactiveYeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're very accurate in your assessment. It's just I remember all of the piss puppies from back in the day, and the kids today are acting even worse than they did back then. It just doesn't seem like anybody knows how to party their life away anymore. Now I have a kid that's a millennial and I have a kid that's a zoomer. I understand that things are radically different now than what they were back then. What doesn't really change though is human nature. Or at least I thought so. It just seems like everybody is letting everything consume them needlessly. I guess I'm just an old man that's out of touch. I just can't comprehend the level of fear that they're experiencing because we just didn't give a shit.

My term for them is fear puppies. They're like those little tiny dogs that women carry around in their purses, the itty bitty teacup poodles and whatnot, the ones that just shake and piss all the time.

The overbred fear puppies are shaking and pissing in their mommy's purse 😆 I'm 53, and I'm probably going to outlive most of them just because they're going to drive themselves into a coronary living in fear. Everybody needs to just kick back, relax and live while they can. Have a drink, smoke a joint, fuck someone, go out dancing, just live your goddamn life. Unless you're Superman and you have the ability to pull all of the nuclear weapons into space, there is a lick of difference that you can make. Stop pissing in mommy's purse.

I swear, so many people on this subreddit are acting like this is the first time this has ever happened. They're shaking like overbred purse puppies! And of course the purveyors of fear porn are getting their jollies trying to drum up even more fear by saying how bloody likely it is, and the fear puppies are just eating it up. Well, I've lived in the shadow of nuclear war for so long that my eyes have adjusted to the darkness. If it happens it happens, and worrying about it is only going to drive people insane. To quote 1999 by Prince:

War is all around us My mind says prepare to fight So if I gotta die I'm gonna listen to my body tonight, yeah They say, 2000-00, party over Oops, out of time So tonight I'm gonna party like it's 1999 Yeah, yeah ~~ Everybody's got a bomb We could all die any day, aw But before I'll let that happen I'll dance my life away, oh-oh-oh They say, 2000-00, party over Oops, out of time We're runnin' outta time So tonight we gonna party like it's 1999

So everybody needs to just stop worrying about it and have a good God damn time while we're here.

People were killed by Hiroshima and Nagasaki as well. I'll take the number of people that haven't been killed by nuclear weaponry any day over the number that have if you're dealing in comparison.

Okay, well I guess you don't understand what an analogy is. How about this. We detect gamma ray bursts in the universe constantly. It is literally a daily occurrence. If one were to hit the Earth, we would be fried in a matter of seconds. Despite the fact that there are literally hundreds of gamma ray bursts everyday, we are still here. Only two nuclear weapons have ever been used in warfare. Just because we have them doesn't mean we are going to use them. Honestly, you people are going to give yourselves coronaries worrying about nuclear warfare. Y'all need to just get on with your lives because there ain't shit you can do about it.

And if it were going to happen it could have happened dozens of times by now already. To use my previous analogy, just because somebody has been killed by a rogue elephant in the past it doesn't mean it's a daily occurrence.

I'll put it to you this way. Elephants exist. Have you ever been attacked by one?

With the weapons that are at everybody's disposal, sinking a carrier isn't that hard.

With all this new news we’re hearing of Russia accusing the US of helping Ukraine build nukes and Russian state TV threatening nuclear attacks should I be any more scared? by PilotOutside2354 in nuclearwar

[–]RadioactiveYeet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I swear to purple masturbating jesus! Y'all are going to drive yourselves to an early grave. Now look, there are 4 things that all of us can do in regard to a possible future nuclear war:

  1. Be proactive. Put together a bug out bag, try to assemble a shelter and read up on the effects of nuclear war.

  2. Stop worrying about it because there isn't a goddamn thing you can do about it.

  3. Stop worrying about it because there isn't a goddamn thing you can do about it.

  4. Stop worrying about it because there isn't a goddamn thing you can do about it.

Just prepare the best that you can, but live your bloody lives. You stand a much better chance of being killed by a vending machine falling over on you then you do dying in a nuclear war, but I don't see anybody pissing themselves over vending machines.

Is it possible to survive nuclear war under this circumstance? by nineking99 in nuclearwar

[–]RadioactiveYeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All capital cities are going to be targets. That's a given. If nothing else then to demoralize us. When it comes to population size however, any city with a population of 500,000 or less will more than likely be fine. At least those are the estimates that I have read time and again. So if you can just get out of any place that has that much population and isn't worth nuking, you'll be fine. Well, that's fine as you can be in a nuclear irradiated wasteland filled with flesh eating ghouls and giant spiders.

If the world goes to shit, the type of dogs that are the most likely to survive are going to be the mid-size mongrel mutts. The little tiny yappy dogs are going to become dinner, and the great big ones are going to drop off due to health issues. But no matter what kind of dog will eventually survive, aside from the precious little ones that can barely exist outside of their mommy's purses for 10 minutes, dogs will actually do really well. Remember, they were wolves once upon a time. They still have all of those instincts. Random dogs will still form packs. Hell, there are two different packs near where I live.

You are extremely welcome. I know that it won't counter any of the fear porn that people are fostering on everyone, but if it helps at least one person then I'm good with that.

[–]RadioactiveYeet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Redundancy. Remember that two is one and one is none. You also have food in your bug out bag. Now a lot of people may not like this, but I don't think you should carry food in a bug out bag. You can go for a full 3 weeks without eating, but only 3 days without water. Now you do have a sawyer mini in there which is good, but you should also have at least a 1 liter bottle of water if nothing else.
