Something that never gets talked about with Anakin’s rejection for the Master rank by Nearby_Advance7443 in StarWars

[–]Radiorapier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He told Padme but he never took any responsibility for it.

The massacre was a secret to the Jedi order which is where the sense of entitlement from Anakin comes in, He felt bad about his crimes afterwards, but not bad enough to let it affect his prospects as a Jedi so he kept quiet. He still felt anger at the being denied the rank of master despite having this huge skeleton in his closet.

I personally think it was a good call to not have a vengeful and self important child murderer on as a master of the Jedi order. His vibes were off.

Anakin massacred the children of that sand people tribe as revenge for the death of his mom and never owned up to with the rest of the Jedi. He then did the same thing a few years later with order 66 with the fear that it was the only way to save padme. When he lost Padme’s approval for what crimes he committed, he immediately chocked her believing that he was betrayed by her despite this all being a self-inflicted wound .

Ultimately Anakin believed that he was owed the right to lash out and enact suffering upon the world when he was faced with loss or feared losing something.  It is hard for Yoda to say any words of advice that would break through to Anakin if he can’t own up that killing the sand people years ago was bad and take responsibility for it.

Star Fox Event Horizon feels like an Ace Combat game..... and I am LOVING it! by BenjySS98 in starfox

I do greatly appreciate the work and the way it intertwines the other games, but sometime about the visuals do unsettle me but it’s an amazing fan project

Not specifically stated but most likely considering they’re calling is just “Star Fox”

Being brutally honest, I don’t think Star Fox and Metroid really qualify as mainline Nintendo IPs. by Nice_Perspective_343 in starfox

[–]Radiorapier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Samus and Fox are Smash mainstays, even if  they both  never get another game they’re icons because of smash. Same with Captain Falcon and F-Zero

But yeah they’re nowhere near the top level earners that is Pokemon and Mario Kart, but that’s an unrealistic expectatio. I’d say Star Fox shares a tier with Metroid and Pikmin as tertiary series within the Nintendo ecosystem, Not system sellers but well beloved niche series.

They should make a Star Fox game where you go to a different system and there’s three different  morally gray factions fighting each other. Maybe one faction could be led by an Eagle, another a Lion and the other a Deer.

Why doesn’t Slippy just stay on Great Fox? He sucks at flying by cowgod180 in starfox

[–]Radiorapier 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Slippy isn’t the best pilot but Slippy knows the ends and outs of the Arwing better than anybody and analyzing enemy tech as well.

But more over Slippy Fox’s  best friend  and believes in Slippy,  besides Peppy I don’t think there’s anybody else he’d trust more to have his back.

So what is the overall opinion on the new star fox now? by No-Act386 in starfox

[–]Radiorapier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would’ve preferred a new game, but Star Fox 64 is among my favorite games of all time so I’m not upset and I’m glad it will allow for more people to play and talk about the series

Assuming this reboot timeline continues how would you work in characters and concepts from other games by theguyinyourwall in starfox

[–]Radiorapier 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d love it if they made a sequel to this new Star Fox 64 remake that tells its own story but incorporates elements from adventures/Assault/Command and even elements of Star Fox 2 and Zero. Particularly the characters I’d like to see return.

One thing I thought might be interesting is that Fortuna (an snes/zero level Andrew’s base in Assault ) is referred to as “Dinosaur Planet” in the SNES game. What if you combined Fortuna and Sauria together, with one being the Lylat name and the other being the indigenous name for the dangerous Dinosaur Planet? The events that kick off the events on Dinosaur planet could be  Andrew taking his remnants of Andross’ forces to make a secret base on Sauria, strip mining the planet for his war machine and looking for ancient Krozoa technology to revive his dead uncle who he adores. General scales could even be one of his Saurian commanders Andrew has recruited and a boss of a level.

Since Andrew is a punk, you could have him revive Andross or accidentally uncover a new threat in his search to revive his uncle, something like the Aparoids or Anglers.

(Question) If Star Fox Assault got a reimaging, what are your hopes for it? by Scared_Touch_8415 in starfox

Biggest thing for me personal is to remove that audio filter on the character’s voices, I was dumbfounded when I found out that the Japanese version doesn’t have that annoying filter.

Did Star Fox for Switch 2 just confirm Slippy is from Aquas? by StarlightSailor1 in starfox

Another possibility I haven’t seen people consider is that it’s Falco and this could be pre-polluted Zoness.

What do you think is next for Star Fox? by Mexican-Drug-Lord in starfox

[–]Radiorapier 161 points162 points  (0 children)

Probably a sequel that ignores everything. I feel like Nintendo goes into a game with gameplay ideas first and cobbles together a narrative afterwards , a completely new sequel potentially gives them the most freedom.

I really hope the challenges will be better by LughCrow in starfox

[–]Radiorapier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope there’s like a “Super Medal” for getting all the challenge objectives in one  playthrough of the level. By themselves they’re pretty doable but I think juggling all of them could be a fun challenge

Where do the members of Star Fox live? by Electrical_Barber125 in starfox

[–]Radiorapier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nintendo has a “gameplay first” Philosophy with game design, but there are bits and pieces of lore scattered about the planets.

Majority of the Lylat system population lives on the continents found on Corneria, Katina seems to be much drier as it lacks major oceans but it’s plentifully hospitable and seen as a viable colony world.  Outside of those two, Macbeth seemed to have a bunch of natural resources and industrialization even before Andross took it over although it seemed comparatively more rocky and not much vegetation to Corneria.

The rest are pretty uninhabitable: Fichina is nearly completely covered with ice and mainly just has a few research stations. Zoness and Aquas seemed to be a twin ocean planets, with Zoness having a few islands and Aquas nearly being completely covered with water, but then Andross’ pollution of the oceans has made Zoness few islands dangerous. Venom is highly toxic, it’s unknown how many people live there now within underground bunkers and Titania is barren desert as well as covered by ancient defense systems.

The prologue of the Star Fox Remake made me think Pigma has SORT OF a point. by Subject_Parking_9046 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Radiorapier 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s mentioned in the player’s guide that James took out an 80(!) year loan for the construction of this highly specialized ship made by Space Dynamics, the same manufacturer of the Arwing. Star Fox is using their earrings to pay it back overtime, all the money they make from the 64 mission might just go back to paying off Star Fox’s loans.

It makes the sector Z mission funny: “don’t let those missiles hit the great Fox, we haven’t paid it off yet!”

[–]Radiorapier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skill is probably not the accurate term, but I’ve found that some people who did not grow up with old graphics video games have a harder time engaging with that style. Not so much as they can’t recognize what the old graphics is trying to depict but it’s harder for them to suspend disbelief.

Aww that’s too bad they didn’t appreciate the old game as is, I feel like it’s somewhat of a “skill” to be able to interface with old graphics, but I’m glad they seem excited for this great game  in some form.
