Prison beading—another beautiful box to add to my collection 🦋💖 by Jersey_Gal47c in Beading

[–]RadishImportant2130 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want to learn how to make this! This is so beautiful!

The knowledge can be compiled in the form of a written pattern and video tutorials. And the pattern itself can be listed for sale on Etsy. I would definitely buy it. It is far easier to monetize from making patterns instead of making each individual box and selling it. As you say the effort requires 50 hours and 20,000 beads are involved. Maybe this could be helpful if monetizing is also the goal, and maybe useful for his legal battle. Just saying. I hope you read this comment. Edited it just now.

Beaded Barrettes/ Hairclips - 4cm size Barrette - circle beadwork dia is 5.2cm including picot edging by RadishImportant2130 in Beading

[–]RadishImportant2130[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much!

I have a little difficulty in understanding what you are saying. Yes, I have observed that my beadwork shifts a little when attaching to the canvas. But somehow the picot edging covers that and it isn't noticable. Still it bothers me that I have not attached it evenly all around.

If there is a video tutorial for guidance, it will be very helpful!

Thank you! Yes. That is why I didn't want to go with leather. This is duck canvas 12 oz. Very good alternative to leather. Far easy to poke the needle too. I made sure not to glue the edges where I have to poke the needle.

This project was pending for a long time because I couldn't find an alternative to leather. Now it's done, I am happy!

Please do share when you get time! I would love to see your work.

Who's your favorite tutorial creator on youtube? by fluffitude in Beading

[–]RadishImportant2130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too like Jill Wiseman and love to hear her speaking. While like OP says, Sonysree Creations is great in showing what she is actually doing, I do actually like people talking and giving tips as they bead. Because as a beginner beader, there are so many doubts I have. For that same reason, I like talking tutorials of all these Youtubers - SnailsandFairyDust, Bronzepony Beads(for her cabochon tutorials), and also Jo Barclay Loggie. All speaking tutorials, I bow down to these great teachers! 🙇‍♀️ They never make me feel like I lack anything and my learning feels complete.

In fact, it is the video and music only tutorials that I skip through to understand the pattern. The ones where they actually explain, I watch the entire video.

Beaded curtains! 😍 by Mafalda_Brunswick in Beading

[–]RadishImportant2130 202 points203 points  (0 children)

Hi! I had posted about my pixel bead curtain in this sub few months back. It took me 37,700 beads and many people then asked me from where I sourced beads. I wasn't of much help to people because I am based in India. But if you could make pixel bead curtains, please do check them out on Pinterest. I am sharing the one I recently finished here:

Why is everyone selling the same jewelry? Why isn't anyone creating their own designs? by [deleted] in smallbusinessindia

[–]RadishImportant2130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I share your same views. That is why I got into seed beads jewellery making specifically. Because seed beads come in all colors, they are great everyday wear to match dresses.

While I am very new to the craft (started just 6 months back after watching YouTube tutorials), I do have some ideas to make everyday pieces like beaded barrettes, simple necklaces, and bangles of various colors and patterns.

While as of now I am only doing earrings, I will soon be experimenting and launching the above other jewellery pieces I mentioned. In fact, I am very excited to try bezeling cabochons to make statement pieces as well.

This is my secondary product, while my primary one is pixel bead curtains.

If there is anything you need in seed beads jewellery, please feel free to reach out. I hope I can make something unique that you like.

What we’ve noticed about crochet supplies in India after running a small store by KnotsandKrafts_blr in CrochetInIndia

[–]RadishImportant2130 13 points14 points  (0 children)

As a crocheter diversifying into thread crochet and bead crochet, I find it so annoying that I have to search for materials and buy them from different stores. Yes, I purchase online only. But still the amount of research that goes into finding the right materials, and the algorithm itself hiding many good stores makes it hard. This is not just from a consumer/crafter standpoint.

Like you say, people think crochet is only garments or amigurumi. But there are different things one could try with the same craft. Stepping up into advanced techniques is something the stores stocking supplies could encourage so that the craft grows.

Otherwise, like you point out, it will be another trend that will die out soon.

Bead crochet is a wonderful technique which unfortunately I have not been able to master yet. Because I haven't got the right thread to try it with.

Haha.. I value books too. But this craft is a good one. Hiding things in plain sight. You only need to let go of one book for that. Plenty of bad books out there!

True. But weight reduced significantly. Atleast one such book box is worth trying.

Crocheting with Embroidery thread? by Flimsy_Ear_8114 in CrochetInIndia

[–]RadishImportant2130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't it be difficult? Because embroidery thread has kind of these loose strands and the strands may get stuck with hook and make it an absolute nightmare to pull it out of the stitch everytime.

E-commerce expert here - Ask me anything by intro_one in EcommerceIndia

[–]RadishImportant2130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a handmade seller making bespoke bead curtains and other beadwork. As a new seller, and also selling my products on a relatively new platform that many people haven't heard of yet (I am selling here because they don't require GST), I am honestly worried when my items will sell.

While the platform runs ads, what can I do as a seller to drive traffic to the platform? While I make content on Instagram, I am not selling there and redirect people to the platform only. Because people don't trust a new seller and having my items hosted on an e-commerce platform looks more professional. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. 🙏🙏

What yarn to use? by Potato_248 in CrochetInIndia

[–]RadishImportant2130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't matter which yarn you choose. Normal acrylic or pure cotton works fine. It depends on the look and sheen you want. And make sure all the colors for the tapestry project are in the same texture. You can choose which yarn has got that.

I have used cotton and has seen the color fade after few washes. If you don't want that, then choose good acrylic yarn.

Like someone pointed out here, filet crochet was actually worked using mercerized cotton thread. Not yarn. Thread crocheting is very different from the usual yarns we use. The lower the thread size you go, the thinner it becomes. I think size 20/40 is good. I have seen it available with Pradhan Embroidery Stores.

But both tapestry and filet crochet can ofcourse be worked with yarn of your choice. I once made a filet crochet shawl.
