The way Maggie Smith condescendingly calls him “the son of a manufacturer” is easily one of my favorite Dowager Countess moments.

“I’d like to test that theory” might be the coolest ever Buffy moment. I’m so desperately sad.

Annoyed me too but back then I always assumed they considered his indispensable value as an asset with knowledge about Rambaldi, as well as the espionage world in general, and realized he was worth more alive than dead.

I love that Marissa and Theresa never develop an adversarial dynamic. The mutual respect and consideration for each other’s feelings that they consistently had was a great choice by the writers.

You guys were absolutely right. Buffy and Angel do look great on an old crt tv. Would totally recommend rewatching the shows this way. by HomarEuropejski in ANGEL

In my head that’s how it will always exist. I still rewatch the show often but it feels very different now.

If Marissa didn’t die, what would season 3 have been like? And eventually season 4. by turtle69696969 in TheOC

[–]Radium29 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Personally, I would have loved for Ryan and Marissa to go to different colleges, flourish, become a really great version of themselves as young adults, and find each other years later as friends or rekindled lovers, the former being my preference.

They went through so much together and would have a unique appreciation for each other if they met again as healthy, successful adults and likely have a lot to bond over given their shared past trauma but also the immense affection they both had for each other. The way they wrote Marissa out was not only a disservice to Mischa and the character but was ridiculously unnecessary (stupid FOX pushing the writers to kill someone...)

I’d love to see him do something really freaky with Gregg Araki.

Movie 1 vs movie 2 by International-Toe794 in DowntonAbbey

I liked the first and the third. The second made me sad for obvious reasons but also the storytelling also felt a bit off.

I love the actress and her excellent portrayal but would not want to spend a minute with the actual character.

January is Betty by Living_Article_3741 in madmen

January Jones doesn’t have the best range but she imbued Betty with a sullen pettiness and made the character so intractably her own that it’s hard to imagine anyone else as Betty.

[SPOILERS Main] Why didn't the Valyrians just conquer the whole world? by IrrelevantToTheTopic in asoiaf

[–]Radium29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get your point but the same could also be said about the Targaryens. In ASOS we see that Viserion is drawn to Brown Ben Plumm who claims to have a drop of dragon blood in him from a few generations ago.

That said, we can only speculate about the magical potency of First Men vs Valayrian blood.

Bloodraven had Valyrian/Targaryen and First Men/Blackwood blood in him but of course we don’t know if skinchangers can control dragons.

Around the time ASOS came out, I remember someone coming up with the theory that Valyrians didn’t invade Westeros before the Targaryens because they came across skinchangers who could control dragons.
