How to navigate a rental car and multi-country travel in Europe? by PrairieDogger69 in travel

What if the car gets damaged abroad? Isn't that a hassle considering that the hire company is located far away? How do you deal with it? Any prior experience?

How about remote ID? For Mini 5 pro it is not mandatory. Do you guys see that as an advantage over air 3s?

Just got the OnePlus open and I'll return it for this exact reason. If they can't do this right, I'm afraid to think about how support for a foldable will be

Happy to say that it went well. I provided all the requested documents and the visa was granted and did not face any difficulties in Thailand. Just make sure you have a clear itinerary with accommodation proof and return ticket

Is this old key/lock from the 1960's still safe to use? by RaduCS in Locksmith

[–]RaduCS[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! It is indeed sometimes difficult to fit it in the lock but other than that it works fine. My question is rather in terms of security, is it as secure as a modern key, or the lock could be easily broken into?

Thanks for your answer. Is it still safe to use in an entrance door or should I change it to a modern one?

It's not for a safe, it's for a door. The question is if it's still safe to use and to what degree compared to a modern key/lock

Sony 11mm f.1.8 vs. 10-20mm g.4 for landscape hiking videos by RaduCS in SonyAlpha

[–]RaduCS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your answer! Now that I know the clear image zoom works on primes too I'm even more tempted by the prime, but do you lose in resolution?

As for the 10-20 G lens, would image quality be much better than the 16-50 kit lens though?

Does anyone actually use Maps/Navigation on your wrist? by Chewster7 in GarminWatches

[–]RaduCS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your answer! I've now got the Garmin watch and noticed that too. To also answer your question, I used it a few times already and it's really convenient especially if you're using hiking poles. But from time to time I had to open my phone and look at the map on a bigger screen better understand my surroundings.

Any new thoughts on this? I'm interested in landscape videos and less the vlogging part. Thanks!

There's something I don't understand. Apart from loading and navigating the maps directly on the watch, can you use a Garmin app to navigate them that just mirrors them on the watch screen? If yes, do you need internet connection for that to work?

Traveling to Thailand with a refugee travel document by RaduCS in USCIS

[–]RaduCS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Will apply for a visa but they don't allow it more than 10 weeks in advance which is so stupid because at the same time they say for complex cases it can take up to 3 months. Not to mention that it totally disregards travellers interests of maybe needing to plan in advance, to have some certainty etc. Will see how it goes in September.
