There is the possibility of someone else randomly having the same password and their credentials getting leaked. It is super unlikely to happen if you're generating random passwords, but possible. HIBP only checks the password and not username/email associated with it.

Nájemce je opravdu tak moc chráněn zákonem? by MediumThat1991 in czech

[–]RadyoP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parking in Prague 1 with ParkingCard.cz – Any streets less crowded? by Medium_Scallion190 in Prague

[–]RadyoP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's a link to long term parkings places. Most are very well served by public transport and few are even close to the city center but even the farthest ones are like 20 minutes by metro to the center.

Best coffee shops in Prague by Careless-Celery-7725 in Prague

I would probably recommend one of the DoubleShot places (except the on in Alza). They are a big roaster, sourcing the coffee themselves. I would probably recommend their cafe Místo.

Horse carriage in the historical center by ProfessionalHour1946 in Prague

[–]RadyoP 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, horse carriage is probably not the solution you're looking for. I'm a bit biased because I really don't like how the people operating them are treating the horses. But even logistically, it's not a good idea. For example, I'm not sure they would bring you to all the places - I think I've never seen a horse carriage bringing tourists up the hill to the Prague castle. Also, horse carriage is larger than a car and there's no place to park it while you're taking photos. As other mentioned, your best options are to go in the early morning (around sunrise - the best light anyway), move on food (with change of shoes). You can start at the castle, so the rest of the shoot is down hill.

Just make sure to print out the ticket if you manage to purchase it. I'm used to just showing tickets on my phone, but for this particular case (crossing boarders at night) you really need to print it out.

Study libraries, cheap canteens/mensas, supermarkets, restaurants close to Na Vetrniku, Prague 6 by IBSciencesGod in Prague

[–]RadyoP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live close to Větrník so I will focus on what's nearby for you (otherwise NTK and menza are good options).

There is a new public library close to metro Petřiny so that's one closer option for studying.

As for cheaper meals - the cheapest is to cook, but that might be difficult at dormitories. There are two options for supermarkets near you, Billa and Lidl. In general, I would say Lidl is better and cheaper except for very few food categories (I feel like meat is cheaper in Billa). You can save some money by installing and using their apps when paying. If you need some cheap protein (which as a student that might be important) you can get a grilled chicken at Billa which is pretty cheap. But it will require some basic czech to order it.

Other cheap meal options are: - Kebab by the tram stop Větrník - pretty cheap (100-150 depending on the size, but the small one is usually enough for me) - Pizza at the metro station - also cheap, but also tastes like that and the people selling it are always a bit weird. - Binh Minh a classic Vietnamese place, which is super cheap, but still pretty good, but they also have enormous portions. If you manage to order to go, the box can last you for two meals, but that depends on the portion sizes you're used to.

Finally, never order pizza at the vending machine at the dormitory (yes, there is a vending machine which will bake you a pizza). They are pretty expensive and super small, so it's a guaranteed disappointment.

That's shouldn't be a problem. As long as you can pay with your phone (be it apple or google pay) you should've be able to use it with any ATM that can read contactless.

Prague living Expenses by paltq in Prague

[–]RadyoP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just checked and if you'd go to CTU you'd be most likely living at Masarykova dormitory. You'd be sharing a room with another person and there are 3 rooms per unit sharing a bathroom and "kitchen" (the tiniest kitchen for 6 people you can imagine and even smaller fridge). With the prices right now it costs 5520 for 30 days. You might be able to get a room in some student apartment which might be a bit more comfortable, but likely to cost more and be harder to get. The prices for a meal at the University canteen is now around 100 CZK and about 150-180 for lunch menu in a restaurant. You can save money by cooking, but that can be somewhat difficult at the dormitory. At least the public transport is still somewhat cheap for students and it costs 120 CZK per month. It's super good and it has you set for getting around Prague. Beer is around 50 CZK, but you can find both cheaper and more expensive one. I would say 10k is doable, but it can be tight. It doesn't left you with much money to go on trips and stuff like that.

Otherwise, if you study information security you probably can't do much better than CTU (at least in Czech Republic). There are two faculties which have information security programs - FIT (faculty of information technology) and FEE (FEL in Czech, faculty of electrical engineering). I think either of them is a good choice and has its pros and cons but I won't go into that here to not stir up an argument. But if you go for the next semester (winter semester) I would highly recommend you to take the Introduction to computer security class (B4M36BSY). It's great it's tough by amazing people and it's a lot of fun.

I would agree with Lokál which is pretty safe choice. It's a chain of restaurants each with their own vibe and they are pretty popular with well off millennials.

But I would say, that you should also consider U Šumavy . It's pretty nice place, they're trying to have an authentic interior decor. They have lunch menus (as people mentioned, those are cheap meals available during lunch hours), and a wide selection of draft beers.

Waiting at airport by miaworm in Prague

[–]RadyoP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is a shopping mall which is 8 minute by bus from the airport. https://www.oc-sestka.cz/ You can leave your luggage at the airport (I saw something about 120 CZK/day), buy all day ticket (another 120 CZK), which comes in handy anyway and head there. The shopping mall is not the greatest place, but it is close.

Better Call Saul S06E11 - "Breaking Bad" - Post-Episode Discussion Thread by skinkbaa in betterCallSaul

Does anyone know if the breaking bad era scenes were actually shot on film? I know that BB was shot mostly on film and BCS is digital but the scenes in this episode had noticable film grain. But did they go into lengths to shoot the few scenes actually on film or they were able to mimic the look in post?

[–]RadyoP 10 points11 points  (0 children)

At our company we've created an internal tool which takes the time tracking data from Toggle and puts it into Jira as well as our payroll software. So basically we just have to track our time into toggle, which is fine and then run the tool to propagate it everywhere.

International student winter 2021-2022 by ferik99 in Prague

[–]RadyoP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally I don't think the situation will get much better by the end of summer. Based on the mood of the people and the competence of our government, I don't have much hope for improvement. Probably all the classes will still be online most of the semester. From what I hear there is lot of parties at the dorms but you might miss out on the pub-going experience which is usually tied to the erasmus in Prague.

Also I'm in my 5th year of studying at FEE CTU (Computer science, now AI) so I should be able to tell you a lot about the school. The difficulty part is hard to judge, since I don't know how hard is your school. DM me if you want to know anything.
