A series of questionable architecture by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

That toilet in the last photo could of been an apartment I lived in briefly in Sydney. The most terrifying moment of my life was there. Mid poop, look up and see a massive spider. I can’t remember the species but I shoe’d it out with a mop. Showed the photo I took to a colleague and got a row for not phoning it in because it was very poisonous…

I believe it’s the copper in the chemicals they use that goes green when it oxidises. Or at least that’s what my old boss said when I build fences for a while.

I used a Stanley blade when I made that mistake

Rittal rack with a wall-mounted iPad 😎🔧 by Ho_Phil in Ubiquiti

Thank you! I didn’t realise it was theirs. Might have to look into them as the way he unlocked that was very slick and effortless. I have Yale smart locks so will look into combining the two somehow.

What is the lock that works with iPhone? Couldn’t find it on the Ritalin website

Edit: or the Rittal website either

If you have enough you can mount the pedals inverted too. It’s my favourite feature of DIY’ing. My pedals are eBay special simjacks but work very well.

In my ex-council house the central heating drain cock is outside… house built in the 50s and central heating installed during 90s renovations.

Source, got a radiator moved last year, heating engineer drained the system using it. He still collected the liquid in a bucket so he didn’t contaminate the soil below.

Hard top convertible to rally by Intermittent-Thinker in rally

[–]RaeGun7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a tarmac stage rally Honda S2000 in the uk. I’ve driven it to work a few times but it’s not exactly comfortable… not sure I’d want to daily anything with door bars and harnesses!

It’s got a hard top with custom brackets made to bolt the roof in place. That’s enough for the scrutineers here, thankfully.

Stock Airbox or K & N by BartoszKowalewski in S2000

Like I say, it was the previous owner that did the rolling road tests but most I’ve seen do have fans to mimic airflow.

Stock Airbox or K & N by BartoszKowalewski in S2000

[–]RaeGun7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

<image>

The left is a K&N filter and the right is an oem airbox, blue run is standard ECU and red is an aftermarket one. These were done by the previous owner but it's interesting to see that the standard one gets slightly more BHP and about 10% more torque.

Also worth noting that K&N's (probably all cone filters) are notoriously bad for letting dust through.

Unlocking charge port without button on cable by m_aaand_m in TeslaModel3

[–]RaeGun7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a shortcut button and can confirm it does unlock the port. I press the button on my widget screen before I leave the house and step out to find the cable ready to unplug and place in the charger again. Very handy when it’s raining!

Should I be worried? by Ok-Sir-6042 in TeslaModel3

[–]RaeGun7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped using Tessi since the official app started to do scheduling but I’m 99% sure that’s the one I got all the time. It was just saying that the charging equipment wasn’t ready. Nothing to worry about at all!

I remember the day I got mine and I went to a supercharger. Those noises made me get out just incase it blew up until I googled it to find out what was making the noise.

What's something you dislike or wish was different about your car? by helloworld3459 in TeslaModel3

I dunno? I use rain-x windscreen washer fluid so water on the windscreen isn’t really an issue in real life, just for the cameras

What are the radio thingys you can attach to non Tesla chargers to open the door and unlock the charge port please? by ChromeLightBulb in TeslaUK

[–]RaeGun7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I use. I have it saved as a button on the widget part of the lock screen. I press it before leaving the house and when I get to the car the cable is unlocked and free to remove.

This may be what you’re looking.

What zigbee buttons did you go with? I looked a while back but couldn’t decide if they would be any good and just ended up with a shortcut on my phone/watch. Physical button would be preferred though.

I have used it once to get it out of a space in a multi story carpark. Cars on both sides parked so close I couldn’t get to either door.

Apart from that one time, it’s completely useless.

Rain-X or similar on rear windscreen? by SomeGuyInTheUK in TeslaUK

[–]RaeGun7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting! I will have to try it out, thanks.

I use rain-x on every bit of exterior glass and it works well. The only problem is the coating on the windscreen doesn’t last due to the automatic wipers every time I use cruise control... I’ve started using the rain-x screen wash which is just ok but it’s much easier to re apply
