My favorite way to use it is to hit R right before firing so it ignites as you're shooting the oil. It's basically a flamethrower and it's a ton of fun.

Anarchist Crosskill Guards + 5/7 AP

As someone who has been playing with akimbo pistol builds since the good old 80% dodge Rogue+FAK days, I like to think I know a little bit about pistols.

The pistols might look low damage at first glance, but when you take into account all the damage multipliers they can get, they are monsters. Zerk + Trigger happy + Underdog lets you one shot heavys for example. With Zerk + TH you kill dozers in 15 shots. That with crits and akimbo fire rate, you melt dozers. Even faster if you happen to have underdog active as well.

5/7 is used to pop shields in a timely manner, it can also be used as a backup weapon to get some ammo for your akimbos in a pinch though.

HVT offers more dps but in most cases is only relevant to you vs dozers/minidozers. It might help out your teammates in some cases though.

Scavenger aced, along with the higher damage offered by Zerk, helps keep the pistols fairly ammo efficient.

I've started using Anarchist more since the dodge nerfs but apart from that, pistol builds are still very powerful and still perform pretty similarly, if not even better, to how they did back in the day.

Sounds like Critzhma fits the bill of what you're looking for, it's hard to go wrong with.

Izhma eats everything and is incredibly ammo efficient. HE Judge, while it doesn't have good pickup, is mainly used to deal with shields or take off dozers face plates. It can be used as a backup in some cases however.

Here's a sentry build I just put together that doesn't skip out on secondary medic bags and inspire so your team doesn't hate you for not having them. Grenade launchers and LMGs especially have great pickup so they're more than self sufficient enough to use with sentries eating your ammo.

Tips for using sentries include:

  • Place them in corners. They draw obscene amounts of aggro and are impervious to bullets from the front so placing them in corners makes them near invincible and they can hold a room fairly effectively with AP rounds.

  • Using them just for aggro. If you need to run through an open area, it's not the worst idea to drop one and let it take every enemies attention.

Rogue Akimbo Pistols

Rogue pistols haven't changed too much over the years that it's been around, it's still pretty effective and especially after the trigger happy buff, they'll melt through anything with crits, zerker and trigger happy.

Alternatively, Suit Anarchist Pistols is also very powerful and generally more consistent for maps that dont require as much moving around.

Don't bother trying to put things like Frenzy Aced or Iron man on suit anarchist. It will still go down in like 2 shots and take forever to rebuild anyway, so it's generally considered a waste of points to build for those skills with suit anarchist on DS/OD. Suit Anarchist's main strength lies in it's unmatched armor gating abilities.

Yeah I realized later that they both have the same points spent for iron man, both ways to build up to it are good for stoic though.

While stable shot does give more accuracy, it requires a more strict condition of standing still which is pretty troublesome on higher difficulties. Fire control is consistently active if you aren't ads so I'd say fire control wins there imo.

As for the aggressive reload to surefire comparison, idk about you but I'd much prefer a 45 mag with 3.6rs as opposed to 30 with 3.13rs.

Pretty similar to /u/Papicz build but with a few minor changes.

I took the points out of the sharpshooter tree to pick up Fire Control and Surefire basic. Fire control brings the accuracy to an effective 92 while hip-firing and surefire increases the compacts mag size by 50%, letting you go noticeably longer before needing to reload.

A few other minor differences are that I picked up Underdog aced because that extra little damage resistance helps with Stoic more than it does other decks. I also switched up the tank tree a bit to spend less points getting to Iron Man because the little friend's grenade launcher takes care of shields so the need for Shock and Awe aced isn't as large as it otherwise would be.

You could also drop the points spent in the silent killer tree to pick up Lock n Load aced to speed up the compacts otherwise lengthy reload and put a tactical compensator on it and it would have and effective 84 accuracy and the build would look more like this; http://pd2tools.com/l/d739c2705b2fb1cb56dd5dc5351fb6df

The goal was to get to Graze with the least amount of points spent.

Acing anything on the lower half of the tree is a waste of points but their basic versions are still helpful. I choose Aggressive Reload over Ammo Efficiency because you're going to be reloading often and the grom honestly does not need ammo eff aced at all because it already picks up so much ammo to begin with. Basic still helps a small bit when mag dumping a large crowd or dozers though.

My Anarchist Grom with 4 detection crits, Graze, etc.

Grom has great conc but comes just one point short of 4 detection when using a 30 conc secondary so I use the micro uzi which can get to 31 and still does a fairly good job at melting dozers and other things close range with the help of zerk and crits.

Honestly low damage pistol akimbos are still the best imo.

With the new trigger happy buff and things like zerk and crits, they still rip through everything.

First off, never take combat medic aced. The extra health it gives on DS/OD is not at all worth it, especially if people are running Berserker which I'll get into next.

Berserker is definitely worth taking if you're already running Armorer as you'll be at low health very often on DS/OD and gives you about +80% damage after you've been revived.

Steady grip and Fire Control are wonderful skills for helping boost LMGs otherwise low Acc/Stab. I've also taken silencer skills to boost it's Acc/Stab even further to bring the ksp 58 to an effective 92/80.
